  • ED or health/stress related ?

    Well for the past year I've had major difficulties getting/maintaining an erection. Now there were some days when I had it easy getting one, but otherwise I've almost always had trouble. (cutting down on masturbation didn't help)

    It all began when I tried having sex with my gf. I couldn't get it up at all and thats when I noticed I have a problem with it. It was a year or so ago. When I tried to have sex with her again after 2 months I failed, after 3 months again. Now I know there are some people who claim it might be because I am nervous and etc... but I dont think the problem is due to that.

    I try getting one when I am alone. I usually get a strong one if I try, but it goes away in 8-12 minutes or so... also I've noticed that I am completely unable to get in missionary position when i have a boner because for some reason it causes the boner to go away faster ? I can only keep it up for 15 minutes if I am in lying in bed or sitting on a chair, but if I am bending down or trying to get it into my gf missionary position then it goes away and stops being hard.

    Now I'm 18 so I guess that I shouldn't have any serious ED problems and hopefully I dont need viagra/cialis in order to stay hard. Is there anyone out there who could suggest what I should do to make it better... I'm going to see a doctor sometime soon about it. Also on another note since I really want to have proper sex with my gf do cock rings help ? Will they help me keep my erection for a bit longer?

    Ahh man that name is a bit of a worry.
    This sounds like it may be a medical issue, do you get good morning wood?
    It is a good idea to see a doc . You could try kegals in the mean time ,don't overdo it though.

      Yes, by all means go to the doctor and explain EVERYTHING -- don't keep any details back out of embarrassment or anything. In the meantime, I agree that kegels could be helpful, edging too.

      I would advise against trying cock rings or anything like that until after you visit the doctor, you don't want to do any damage to yourself or take any undue risks right now. Until you figure out what the problem is, it is best to be gentle with yourself. If you do decide to get a cock ring, go for one of the stretchy silicone ones (many come with little knobs or flickers for your lady's pleasure) not a metal or hard rubber ring. Those can hurt you if you don't have a perfect fit.

        Thanks, recently went to doctor and well.. he claims its most probably stress related so he prescribed me 4 levitra tablets (similar to viagra). If these dont regain my confidence and belief in myself (he said I should use them when I am about to have sex) then I should come back and get blood/testosterone tests done. And to the previous poster, well I do get them but its never hard, just a bit extended and longer thats it. Havent had proper morning wood for a long long time so far.

            Nope I havent used steroids... and well got the viagra pills, took one during sex worked great... now I'm scared that I wont be able to live without them. I fear this is not stress related after all, does anyone know if a tight foreskin can affect erections ?

            And well yeah, I guess I'm just going to finish these 4 pills while they last, cant stand to face the humiliation of not being able to do anything once again...

            Also this may sound weird but... I dont get morning nor night wood... with my foreskin on. If I remove the foreskin I get boners during the night which wake me up... why does this happen? Anyone have experience with this.

              You might try starting a new thread with "foreskin" in the title to get more attention for that last question, I can't help you with that one.

              The fact that you can get good nighttime erections is an excellent sign, that means that your plumbing works fine.
              Have you tried kegelling and edging yet?

                If you're able to get an erection on your own (even an 8-12 minute one, which is actually better than the "average" according to certain studies) then your ED is very likely psychological.

                          I am doing kegeling now. I also have been drinking green tea. But mine could have been worse by depression. Trying my best to receover.
