  • Experienced Long Term BathMate Users

Good evening folks. I have a questions with regards to the Bathmate. I've been using it for almost 4 weeks now (come Friday) and after reading through some threads, I'm not convinced that I'm on track to seeing the best results from using it. Basically I want to know which method is better for seeing gains for example:

    • 2 short 10 minuet sessions at Max pressure entering the Bathmate as erect as you can vs
    • Much longer sessions (maybe 40 minuets to an hour I guess?) with less pressure focusing on staying in the Bathmate for the full 40 minuets to an hour, or like 20 - 30 minuet sets.

I figured the whole idea of the Bathmate was to pump to the maximum (or to as much as you could handle), however I am reading that this is not good for girth gains? And generally pumping to the max is more for length gains. I am not understanding the science behind it. It makes sense to me that we should expand our penis larger than its original capacity to see size gains in both length and girth. But apparently lower pressure (meaning less expansion) for longer periods of time is better for girth?

Using the Bathmate I try to always enter it as erect as possible. Sometimes that is 80% and sometimes it is 95%. I then pump to what I can handle for 10 minuets and often times this is MAX i.e I pump the device until no water comes out and believe me, at this point the pressure build up is insane but after 30 seconds or so I start to enjoy it. It really feels like my penis is working. To give you an idea my BPEL is 6.1 and I can just scrape 6 3/4" when I get my best pump.

Anyway It would be nice to hear some thoughts on this. Opinions and advice are welcomed from all members, although it would be good to get some feedback from regular Bathmate users.

As an aside, I was wondering if using the Bathmate strengthens your Tunica and if so, is this bad for length gains?

Definitely doing right to start. End EVERY session with edging and do not ejaculate. After month 2 start to increase the time, watch your PI's and watch edema build up. I gained a lot with it, but it also may have played a role in my back injury.

Hi Kong, I had a look at your progress log, you seem to have done well with the bathmate to begin with. I have been meaning to add edging into my session so will definitely do that.

Could you give me a little more info on the routine you were using with the Bathmate? And do you usually pump to the Max i.e pump until no more water comes out. Also how long were you in the Bathmate for during your sessions?

I have had several thoughts on pumping with the bath mate. There's a tendency with most individuals to try to push it to the limit, unfortunately this tends to be counterproductive, as it pulls in a lot of fluids under the skin of the penis, which pushes in on the internal structure. Also, you get a bloated look. Therefore, I suggest less vacuum is deftly better, and secondly a soft silicone sleeve of 0,8" or 1" placed over the penis can help prevent the external edema, and help focus on internal expansion of penis which is what you want. It is best to cut the silicone sleeve into several sections, for ease of application over the penis. For example, if you had a six-inch penis, erect, you would cut your silicone sleeve out so that the several pieces would probably add up to about five inch, which would cover everything but the glans.

Thanks Dr Ric, I just learned something . When I pump I do tend to get edema but as it is just a little bit of swelling that goes away after a few hours I tend just to let it happen and use the edema as an indicator that I am working my penis to its limit. But what you are saying is instead of doing the latter, find a vacuum level that is strong, but not too strong as to produce edema?

Do you have any thoughts on longer time spent in the BathMate at a lower vacuum vs shorter time in the vacuum at at higher vacuum (but not too high as to produce edema).

Edge first and enter as hard as possible, pump on highest pressure(trial and error at first to figure out what u can handle before edema gets crazy) and edge after.

Always start with lowest vacuum possible and increase time and intensity slowly.

Problem is that is hard to gauge with the batmate. A normal pump with a gauge beats it everyday.

Feel like I should pitch in seeing as I've been using one nearly 6 months.

I don't know about best results, but I've certainly had results. I've used a very low intensity routine as I'd rather have slow gains and no injuries than quick gains and risk the health of my bits. That said 0.75" in 6 months can hardly be said to be slow so... hm.

15 mins at mid to low pressure (basically what the manual says). Warm up for at least 5 minutes first and I do mine in the bath, 4 times a week. I also do some stretches and jelqs in the mornings on the days I pump, but again nothing that could be remotely considered excessive. I think not masturbating/edging regularly would also be of benefit, but that's a nut I'm yet to crack.

How much girth have you gained in 6 months?
