you can do them for more than 10 seconds. i usually do mine for a minute at a time. his specific routine includes 10 second holds done in repetition

Confusion with Reverse Kegels

No matter how much I try I can never seem to isolate the Bc muscle, let alone know if I'm even doing the RK with the group of muscles right..
I've been kegeling for as long as I can remember, naturally as most do (I had to "hold it" for long periods of time during car trips as a kid) and I've known about RK for a while now, but just recently started trying them (as of a week ago). I don't have a routine, but I figured I should try to understand how to RK properly before I make one.
When I do my interpretation of a RK, here's what I can do: "Push out around your anus, as if trying to defecate". When I do it: my abs tense up and of course I do feel the "anal breathing" as it is called, I can only do so much of this because my abdominal area starts to feel a little bloated (from diaphragm breathing). I took a break today from it, 'cause my stomach still feels bloated a bit.
Even when I do normal kegels, I typically just do it without isolation. Though if the effectiveness of the reverse kegel during intercourse, does in fact COME from the isolation...I think I'm out of luck then.
P.S: I've also given the:"try to make urine come out faster" thing a try; to Isolate the BC muscle, but I'm unable to do that in the first place. I'm usually pretty relaxed when urinating so maybe it's already flexed anyhow?Last edited by Deadzone; 04-27-2012, 09:01 PM.

if you push out and you dont know how to rk this can only cause further tension in the area and make pre ejaculation worse.... but i dont know how to do a rk all i know is that is what everyone has told me and i have experienced it

I try and read all of your post on RK, and want to say thanks, because you obviously put a lot of time and effort into helping people with their pelvic floor issues, and want you to know it is greatly appreciated.
I am trying to take the more "relaxed" approach discussed in this thread. I attempt to to really focus on the muscles around base of penis... But it is quite obvious to me, that I just don't have that muscle control yet. So in essence I am still stretching the front and back, because I honestly can't tell the difference at this point. I think most beginners like myself will be like that. We try to to stretch front only, but end up stretching everything in the process due to muscle discipline being Lax. Possibly focusing on front can give us a starting point, and if we pay attention, can finally tell when we actually are only stretching front instead of everything?
Any others just beginning RK like to Concur/Disagree on this?
I am positive that the RK is the key to my PreE, and will continue to work at it, although my muscles down there don't want to cooperate very well haha.

Since the most common imbalance is kegels(k) to reverse kegel(rk) both as a group, for many applications doing reverse as a group is sufficent.
However not all imbalance is k/ rk ,it is possible to have a front to back imbalance . As it is possible for some guys to create a k/rk imbalance by doing kegels but not rk, I theorise it is possible to create front to back imbalance.
Multi way balance is a little known area.

Regular kegels pull the penis back (you can actually feel this if you stretch your penis and do one, you will definitely feel it) and also force more blood into the penis making it hard. This effect can also be seen while looking at your glans. Doing a hard kegel will make the glans a bit bigger and the skin tighter. I,ve also noticed that holding a hard one will lower my arousal and lower my erection quality. I usually use these while edging/balloning if I get way too close to my PONR and need to relax a bit.
For me reverse kegels work the other way around. I try to do them as hard as possible and keep them there. I just try to fart really hard. This will also try to force out pee. Basically its like im trying to just let everything go inside me. Sometimes when I do these, I will actually fart many times or go to the bathroom to pee as I feel I'll pee myself. Because Im doing reverse kegels as hard as possible I can definitely feel some ab muscles tightening. However, its not the usual ab squeeze and feels more like a stomach and lower ab bloating. Try to stop pee by regular kegeling, then suddenly try to let it all go as fast as possible. This feeling of letting it go is a reverse kegel. Its no big deal actually.

i find that belly breathing helps relax my pelvic floor...... the one thing i dont get though is when i did a successful rk my cock swelled up with blood but didn't get hard just plump lol but someone on this thread said your cock shouldn't fill up with blood so what the hell was i doing then?
