Looking into buying a good lube, and I am looking for one with lidocaine in it, but does it matter if it is silicon or water based? Think I will go with silicon as it is meant to last longer

Adam & Eve is the brand we used. Think it's silicone-based. It's very slick and lasts well.

In regards to positions I need some advice from more experienced members. This is probably the best way to start, I think. It's nice and intimate and if you get the angle of your body right, your midriff will rub her clit as you move, which should be nice for her (though she might want to rub it herself or use a vibrator, I think it's quite uncommon for women to be able to come from anal without some clitoral stimulation too).

One last post before I go to bed...if you and your girlfriend are exclusive and know you're both clean from an STD point of view, there's no need to use a condom. On the lube, we just use Astroglide. Great stuff. We have, in the beginning, tried the lube with lidocaine in it. It does help with initial penetration and even to help relax me better. I wouldn't suggest you use the lidocaine one for anything other than that(that's my own personal opinion on it).
