Yes these are mainly for girth. If you were long enough that you could hold an ok grip at midshaft, and then jelq from the base to there, that would work. I am a little over 7" but don't think I could do that. Perhaps someone who clamps might be able to say whether you could clamp midshaft if that would do the trick. I don't know if just stopping at the midway point would be very effective.

As for how the CC's grow I am not sure we do know. I am under the impression the large expansion causes micro tears similar to lifting. I have also read where some think the expansion simply makes the cells larger by stretching them and thus making them capable of holding more blood. I feel it grows through micro tears, because if it were simple expansion, rest days wouldn't seem to be necessary. Like any exercise, abuse it and there will be problems.

I'm new around here too.. trying to get an idea of what the v-jelq is before I start JPs90 routine. The v-jelq video is not available under the exercises section, but I think I understand what's going on now so I'll try to explain as I understand it.

1.) Make a "Peace Sign" with your index and middle fingers.

2.) Hold the peace sign up to your face so that you can see your thumb, ring finger, and pinky finger as they are curled up in your palm. This also means that you will not be able to see your finger nails. Think of it like hands on a clock.. your middle finger is point to 11-o'clock and your index is point to 1-oclock. Or think of it like the letter V, look at this letter V.. that's what your fingers look like.

3.) Take your peace sign and rotate it 180 degrees counter-clockwise. So again, as hands on a clock your middle finger is now point to 5-o'clock and your index is point to 7 o'clock. Or you can think of it like a capital A... look at this A, your fingers will be pointing in the same direction as the 'legs' of the A and obviously there is no " - " that connects your fingers together. It's basically an upside down V.

        Still with me?

4.) Now take your fingers and put the tips into low abdomen right above the base of your shaft. You should still be able to see your thumb, ring finger, and pinky finger and you should also not be able to see your index fingernails or your middle fingernails.

5.) Curl your index and middle fingers slightly, like if you were pitching a baseball.. or carrying a grocery bag with just those fingers... or were going to scratch/itch your leg

--At this point you're not even touching your shaft, just above it. I'm trying to show your the motion, you add the shaft later.

6.) Now, with your fingers curled and pressed in towards your pubic bone just above your shaft, pull your fingers up towards your belly button while maintaining the same hand form (upside V shape, fingers curled, pressed into your body a bit).

That's how I understand the motion of it... now all you need to add is actually putting your penis in between your index and middle finger as you slide up towards your belly button. Basically it's putting pressure on the sides of your shaft rather than the bottom or top of it.

Looking at this A again... you would want to get your shaft into the "triangle" section of the A. Basically try to get it as close to your knuckles as you can, while it's between your index and middle finger.

You're sliding your fingers and shaft straight up towards your belly button. Your shaft is pressed against your body, trapped between your index and middle fingers

        ---------

This is my understanding, hope it helps...

Great description! I think this deserves it's own thread. This is how I've been doing it (I'm on my first month of jp's 90). My only question is about the reps. I think JP's v jelqs require that you stroke up, left, and right in a specific order/pattern. That's the confusing part. If anyone here could clear that up that'd be great. I've been reading some contradicting information about it so far.

It's also hard for me to understand why its taking so long for someone to upload a 30 sec. V jelq video. It would help so many people out. But great post ^

I have changed my opinion on this. Smooth muscle cells do not react to stress like skeletal cells do when you lift. Skeletal cells do tear, then repair those tears. After repairing themselves they are larger (more muscle). Smooth muscle cells on the other hand can only maintain themselves at a certain size. If they grow too large to feed and remove waste, they divide through mitosis into smaller, more manageable cell sizes. Now you have more cells, you work those, they grow, divide.....................This is where the size comes from in your penis, not through micro tears.

I started this post a few years back before I came up with the idea of the UV. The link is in my signature. It really is very simple, but very effective. While standing have your hand hang straight down, palm facing your body. Take your pointing and middle finger and make an A shape like this: /\. Now slip those fingers over the top of your shaft (palm still facing your body), down near your pubic bone. Once those fingers are in place, take your other hand underneath your shaft and squeeze the fingers together that you placed on your shaft. Keeping your jelqing fingers squeezed with your other hand simply do your normal jelq stroke. I jelq in a downward direction (glans looking down at the floor) because I feel it is more effective. Once I reach my glans I slightly lift my jelqing fingers up and move back down to my original position and repeat. I use the same hand for 10 jelqing strokes then switch. I find this goes more smoothly than switching hands each time. Squeezing your fingers together will make those fingers sore, so that is why I switch after 10 strokes.

Personally I feel 50% is about right. However, mine can fluctuate perhaps 20% or so either way. If I get too hard I pay less attention to my junk (while still doing proper jelqs), if too soft I pay more attention to it. Too soft for too long probably means your tool is tired, or you just aren't into it right then.
