  • breaks from PE

    Hey guys,
has anyone tried taking regular breaks from PE? For example 2 months training (with days off of course) and then taking 2 weeks off and start again. I am tempted to give this a try, but would like to hear first if anyone had success with this before. I can imagine this may not be the best approach for people who are hanging, but that's not my case, I rely mostly on manual PE (mainly stretching) and do hanging and pumping only occasionally.
The advantages I see in this approach should be:
    1. penis can fully recover and grow tissues in the rest period.
    2. this should constantly help to prevent plateaus.

    Disadvantages could be:
    1. wasting time not doing PE
    2. penis becomes stronger and will be harder to stretch eventually (even though taking all the success stories into account it shouldn't be the case)

My main focus at the moment is length.
    Thanks for any replies. petrpan

Manual PE is a BRO science .
There are no certain answers . It s all about individuality.

Some say that penis becomes stronger after 2 weeks off some say that 2 weeks OFF acts as a decondition break.
So these are 2 completely opposite things.

So my point is that there is no accurate answer

Hi TeoDeles, thanks for your input. That's why I would be happy if someone who has tried this could also reply. However I am afraid, that vast majority of people here didn't dare to try this approach. And I admit I am also a bit scared to try this as I don't want to experience any possible negative effects I have mentioned. However I think it is also possible there are mainly positive effects.

All I can do to help you is to tell you that most members claim they gained better after breaks.

Teo, what do you mean by that?

Petr, I take a week off after every six weeks (I'm on Big Al's jelq free routine). I was under the impression most guys had a week off after a certain amount of weeks of training. I guess not? lol

Anyway, I've made gains by doing this. Mind you, after completing the JP90 routine, I've only ever done Big Al's routine, which is to say that after every six weeks, I have a week off. But it's been serving me fantastically in many aspects, and I've no plans whatsoever of changing my routine.

I've put some time and thought into breaks. Did a thread last year to track some breaks:
            https://www.pegym.com/forums/penis-e...tml?highlight=

Here is my take on breaks:

Based on the article "Penile Traction Therapy (Penile Lengthening Device)" in Penile Augmentation N.C. Park et al. (eds.), 2016.

"Tissue growth occurs as a result of tissue adaptation in response to application of chronic traction...This process is thought to be cellular proliferation like the process of distraction osteogenesis resulting from bone lengthening procedures by using traction... Prolonged traction force on tissue results in an adaptation reaction at a cellular level, which thereby results in the expansion of the tissues."

"Therefore, the use of traction device is not just to stretch the tissue mechanically, but to actually induce tissue growth to make real gain of additional penile length"

            Tissue growth due to

"Mechanotransduction is a cellular signal transduction in response to mechanical stimuli, which resulted in modulating almost all aspects of cell function, including cell growth, differentiation, migration, gene expression, protein synthesis, and apoptosis...It is thought tissue growing against chronic traction is one of the tissue protective mechanisms to try to loss of mechanical strength by subsequent collagen degradation...In addition, depolymerization of collagen fibers by increase in degradative enzymes induced not only weakening of the fibers by collagen degradation but the increase in newly synthesized collagen, which resulted in providing the extension of the tissue without trauma."

If I am reading this correctly, and I am not a cellular biologist (though I play one on TV), it would seem that we need to this in cycles to allow the tissue to grow and recover.

Meaning do some manual work, make gains, cement gains, take break, start again, etc. The body will adjust to the “new normal”, then you could start again and potential make more gains.

Theoretically, if you don’t stop and allow the body to adjust to the new normal, then maybe you get stuck at a certain level, or a plateau because you are not allowing for the tissue to grow.

Now, to your specific questions regarding potential disadvantages:
            1. It is not wasted if it contributes towards the end goal. We fall into a trap thinking we cannot stop tugging, but it is important to do all that needs to be done, including break. I find a week is more than enough to recover after a 6 to 8 week cycle.
            2. I doubt that that is true. I do not think it becomes stronger. In fact, I think the break allows the tissue to relax and be more supple, and in the end geared towards new gains.

A week off at the end of a cycle and longer "decon" breaks 1-2 times a year should help to speed gains.

I have always done a lot of stretching of my limbs, back etc.

I have had to take months off at a time due to injury, ops etc. I have briefly lost some flexibility. But normally get it back in totality a few weeks after resuming.

When I've had to take a couple of weeks off to a month I have not lost anything. Maybe a bit stiff for a couple is sessions but then straight back to normal.

I don't know if this is comparable to PE, but I find it hard to believe my ligaments would suddenly decide to become steel rods. It's never happened anywhere else in my body.

Thanks for your replies guys, all of them are appreciated. I will do the breaks for sure. Probably a week after every 6 weeks (as mentioned above) and will see how it works for me.

Though PE is an individual thing, I wouldn't go so far as to claim there isn't any mainstream acknowledged science behind it. Along with the numerous studies and references available, see Davis' Law.
