Basic Instructions - Desktop mode
To add a New Thread to a forum,
1st navigate to the appropriate forum,
See below, noting I've navigated to the "Introduce Yourself" forum.
Look for "Post New Thread" and click it.
Proceed through the dialog to include a Thread title & writing the thread content.
Save when you are finished.
(If your account is Moderated, your post will need to be approved before it is visible to the general public)

To Add a Post or Reply, to an Existing Thread
1st navigate to the appropriate forum, then,
navigate to the Thread that you want to add your Post or Reply to, and select it.
Notice I've selected the existing thread "Thankful November 2018"
Look for the "+Reply to Thread" and click it.
Proceed through the dialog to write your response/reply to an existing thread.
Save when you are finished.
(If your account is Moderated, your post will need to be approved before it is visible to the general public)

navigate to the Thread that you want to add your Post or Reply to, and select it.
