  • 2cm difference between BPSFL and BPEL

    Hey everyone,
I have been doing PE for around 2.5 months. I have been consistent with my program most of the time. I have been doing jelqing, manual streches and ads 5 days a week in that period.
If you need more information about my general life, I have been doing boxing and fitness for around 10+ years. I am strict with my diet and sleeping schedule. I only drink 1 cup of coffee a day. No alcohol, no smoking. So I believe my conditions are good for PE.

    My problem is having big difference in BPEL and BPSFL. Today's measurements;
BPEL: 16.7 cm consistently, 17 cm while edging.
BPSFL: 18.7 (Before PE, 19.1 after 10 mins of manual stretching)

I am not sure because I didnt get my BP measurements at the beginning (such stupidity) but I believe I gained more than 1 cm BPEL and more than 2cm (maybe even 3) BPSFL.

So the question is am I doing something wrong? Or its because of I am gaining BPSFL too quickly for my EL to catch up. But then again I consider people who gained almost 1 inch in couple of months and I get rid of this "EL needs some time to grow) idea.

I also checked TGC Theory but I am having good EQ so I am not sure if thats the case for me. I am also getting more mm in BPSFL each week and my PI's are fine so I am not sure if I need to change my program. As far as I know, I should stick with whats working for me.

I am for sure gaining BPSFL but I am not sure if I really gain BPEL because I took stupid measurements at the beginning. I assume I gained more than 1 cm but still not sure.

Thanks a lot if you managed to read that far I am open for any suggestion. I wish you all have a good day.

I've heard this from other guys on here. There was also a poll on here a while back, showing that most guys have a notable difference between EL and FSL. So, that fact seems a given for most people. I don't recall if your 2cm difference was outside the norm in that poll. My EL measurements over time hover just less than a cm shorter than my SFL. I see it as room to grow as with PE my EL has lengthened along with my FSL. At this point, my current EL is almost 2cm longer than my starting FSL.

Part of your issue, as I think you've already realized, is measurement accuracy. You may see the numbers normalize some after you've done more measuring over time. The other issue can be EQ, but you seem to be sure that's not part of your concern
    Start: BPEL 6.75', EG 5.8", BPFL 4.5", FG 4.7", BPFSL 7.0"
    05/2021: BPEL 7.65”, EG 6.0”, BPFL 5.8”, FG 5.0", BPFSL 8.0"
    Goal: BPEL 8.0", EG 6.0", BPFL 5.75" FG 5.0", BPFSL 8.5"

Thanks for the response. I started to take good measurements around 1 month ago. 1 thing is for sure that I gained around 1.1 cm in 24 days based on my log. So I am definitely gaining BPSFL, I hope i can see some significant gains in EL too to make sure that I am in the good route.

Yeah I also have 9 EQ if not 9.5 so its the same as before PE. I would like to think as you do. I hope this gap means more room for EL to grow.

I also recently realized that I get different measurements depends on if I sit or stand. I am not sure what is generally accepted way to measure. I assume standing is how people measure generally.

Probably the most important thing is to measure the same way in the same position with the same ruler/tape every time. Clinicians doing studies usually have the guy standing. Maybe that's better or maybe just easier for both individuals. I measure sitting and leaning back - so torso at maybe at 130 degrees to my leg, making a pretty flat plane from my stomach to pubic bone. I do it this way simply because it's easier to measure and write it down. All that said, my best EL measurement ever was laying down - however the fact that my gf was encouraging the EQ might have had something to do with it!

It's typical to see a 1/2" (usually +) differential between BPEL and BPFSL.

Thanks a lot for helping. I assume you think its all normal. I decided to stick to my routine to see if I really gain EL or not. I am pretty sure that I took good measurements recently so I keep doing what I do for couple more weeks.

Btw is it common to see that some people can gain SFL but not EL?

I mean is gaining BPSFL sign of doing what works for me?
