noose material replacement

was wondering if anyone has used anything different for a noose material for extending. i have silicone but it ripped into a smaller piece..... used too many times. any tried suggestions? something laying around the house?

You might check online if you can't find something around the house. Silicone comes in a vast array of forms, including solid round strips in a load of diameters. They are often used for sealing things. It's cheap, so buy a roll and cut off what you need whenever it snaps again.
