Measuring problem

Sorry if it's in the wrong forum.

I decided to measure myself while I was edging today.

I used the tailor measuring tape to measure the length - I got 6 inches.
Just to verify, I used the same ruler I used to measure a while back - I got 5.5 inches.

Could it be when I measured myself bone pressed (as always) the tape end got curved near the pubic bone so it got pulled down a bit, giving me a bigger reading? The ruler didn't account for the curve? I'm not that curved by the way. Imade sure the tape was held firmly and straight.

You can see in the pics that the the readings are alinged with each other. Please excuse the bad quality of my phone.

What should I do? Should I use the tape or the ruler? I'll measure myself again just in case but I'm sure I'll get a different reading. Hopefully this isnt the most stupid question you've answered.

It's been asked before, for sure. I get a longer reading (about a half inch) from the tape measure. I think pressing it against your penis makes the difference. For me it's the curvature of my glans that accounts for it.

Big Al suggests, and I agree, that you should stick with the tape measure. Give yourself that extra inch. If Big Al says it's "not cheating," whatever that means, then that's good enough for me.

Well, out of curiosity, is the length measured from the tape the actual length?

I believe so. I think it's actually a much more precise measurement so long as it's tightly stretched and there are no wrinkles in it.

I can see the confusion from the pics.. you're measuring your ruler when you should be measuring your cock!

in all seriousness, I reckon I probably get an 1/8" closer to the bone with a tape measure than with a hard ruler, but I can't actually find a hard ruler at the moment to check. I wouldn't have said there was likely to be any more variation than that, maybe one's weight makes a difference though, dunno about you obviously but I'm quite a skinny lad.

I wonder, do you account for that little bit of plastic before the measurements start when you measure with the ruler?

I remember when Vulcan realised about that little 'overhang' it was the quickest 1/8th inch he's ever gained! Hehe

I like the measuring tape way better than a hard ruler.. lost mine on the move back to school. I'm measuring girth with a piece of string and then putting it against my a hard ruler... not the most accurate thing going.

I like the string method - that works. As for ruler or tape measure, there are some preferences that will cause people to feel differently. The most important thing, in my opinion, is to measure the same way, with the same measuring device, every time. When you do this, you'll know that the only thing that changed is the dick.
