  • Girth measuring

I'm trying to get an accurate measure of my girth. I don't want to delude, nor underestimate myself. I think I "weigh in" at 5.5". I'm pretty happy about it. I say I think, because whenever I try to measure I invariably fumble around doing so and inevitably start (I think) contracting. I know I'm at least 5.25". I need to be as sure as possible of my full measurement. (Again, without delusion.) Would it be safe to assume I'm 5.5"? Is there a technique for measuring accurately and quickly so as not to lose any girth while doing so? To clarify, a .25" isn't very much on the tape measure or marked paper; less than I expected. Appreciate any expertise on this. Thanks all.

You my friend have TMA. Tape Measure Anxiety. It happens to many of us. I can have rock hard erections all night long, get up, grab the tape, and my pride and joy goes south on me just about every time. The only way I will ever get a full hard on with a tape in my hands is if I have my wife do it while we are making love. While that would work, I haven't asked her yet!!! If you know that you are similarly semi erect each time you measure, you will still be able to tell over time if you are getting larger through PE. The problem with guessing how much to add then becomes a game of inaccuracies.

I have TMA too. I gave up on measuring girth with a tape measure a long time ago... but one thing that works better for me is measuring with a solid ruler. Holding it straight across the top for width, then across the side for depth. It's not as accurate, and you'll get a totally different reading than most (2" width instead of 5.5" circumference) but it works good enough, I suppose.

Or if you can manage getting the tape measure around your shaft with one hand... try stroking the glans to keep yourself fully erect. You're bound to get the tape all covered in lube though.

2 inches wide on a 5.5" girth?' your one is a kinda flat penis, isn't it?

That sounds about right, your width is roughly 1/3 of your girth.

I solved for X using Trisquel's stats as example. It's his thread.

I always seem to have trouble measuring girth, too. Sometimes it's because I lose my erection, but even when that doesn't happen, I still have trouble coming up with a single number.

I bought something called an Erectiometer, that I've mentioned on a couple of threads. I've finally tried it, and although I'm a little disappointed with it, I think I'll be able to use it more effectivly than a tape measure.

It was pretty expensive for a ruler, but the thing I like about it is that you leave it on you, and then you can try to get to a maximum erection, and it's already there to take the measurement.

I'm reluctant to give it a totally positive review because it is expensive, and it's not as good as I was hoping it would be. I am glad I have it, though, and I wouldn't return it, even if I could. I guess that says something.

It might actually be good for those who have TMA

Some warnings though. Because it has a plastic piece that allows it to be turned into a loop, I think it might not be 100% accurate. I plan to check that though, and see if I need a correction factor. Another thing I don't like is that it doesn't stay completely snug when you kegel. Two of these things come in a package though, and the one I used is the one that requires less force to expand. I'm hoping that the other one stays more snug after a kegel.

I'll post again after I've played with them some more.
