  • What too much stress feels like? 3 questions

So I'm finishing up my 3rd week of the JP90 program and thought I'd share some physical indicators that might mean I'm overtraining. I wanted to share what I feel for other newbies to understand what too much feels like and I am hoping some vets will confirm my suspicions.

First I experienced a raw soreness on the skin of the base from what I thought was my fingernails scratching the skin from the V jelqs. But I have since been very careful to make sure I'm not scratching myself and the feeling is still there after a workout. My skin is VERY tight and possibly holding back my gains. I make sure the second hand starting a new jelq is always at the base puling back the skin to encourage a skin stretch. Is this rawness normal?

Second I got too erect doing normal jelqs and strained one ligament a bit. Basically it feels like I've overstretched the upper right lig that starts at the base and goes up to my right hip bone. There is a very slight being kicked in the crotch feeling if I message it gently. There is no pain if I don't touch it and nothing popped. EQ is a 10 if I want to get it up and if anything I'm experiencing more erections and sex drive. So is this soreness just normal stretching or did I overdo it? I skipped my session yesterday just to be safe and Friday & Saturday are my normal down days. But I don't want to stop if this is normal.

As for why I jelqed when erect, I misunderstood part of the JP90 instructions. I read "do it at 70% erection" as do it at an EQ of 7. So I'd continue when I was erect but felt it was only a 7 on a 10 scale of hardness. I'm thinking this is too erect also I'm squeezing pretty hard as it feels so good. Can someone confirm if this should have been read as "do it when you are somewhat engorged but NOT erect to the point of hardness/stiffness"? In other words you can still bend your penis shaft in any direction.

The skin issue could be a lot of things. It could be the tight skin you mentioned. It could be contact with stubble or pubic hair. It could be a poor choice of jeql lube. Your fingernails should not scratch you during v-jelqs, although I can see how that might happen while you're still learning the movement. It sounds like you eliminated that possibility, but if you're not 100% sure, trim them.

EQ and Erection % is something that really confused me too, but I think your explanation is spot on. So you took it to mean jelq with a 7/10 erection, right? Sounds like that may have been a mistake.

Here is my vague interpretation of a good level for a jelq: You want to have a nice flaccid hang, but not an erection. It should look full and engorged, but certainly still more flexible than an erection. Yes, 50-70% is a good number to use, but it can be difficult to interpret. Once you find the appropriate level where you're moving the blood, it begins to feel right. I like to call it a 'half-chub' (even though by most standards it would probably be just a bit higher than 50% erection.) Floppy, flexible, but full.

You seem to be on the right track. Keep working at it.

Thanks for the response. My nails are trimmed back. I do have stubble and very much noticed it scratching but didn't think it could be the cause. I think you've got it right. Time to shave that base. As for my lube it is the best stuff in the flipping world and I highly recommend it to everyone. It is called Wet Platinum and is a silky silicone water based lube that never dries out. You also confirmed I was hard and not soft but plump during the jelqs as I should have been. Thanks a bunch!
