  • Am I edging properly?

    The last 2 days I have tried masturbating, and when I reach orgasm, I squeeze the kegel for a few seconds to keep the semen inside. It doesn't come out, but I'm quite sure I had a full orgasm.

    Did I go too far? Also, is this unhealthy?

    If you are just starting, it is too early to attempt Multiple Male Orgasms or Dry Orgasms yet, you need to condition your pelvic floor at first, and practice for timing to avoid over training and/or injury.

    Head over to the Premature Ejaculation Forum and read the stickies, balance your pelvic floor with Kegels (regular and reverse) and practice the basic start/stop edging technique to familiarize yourself with your body's responses and learn to prolong sexual encounters.

    After that, you may advance to MMOs, by following this guide linked below.

      It's further than I go when I edge. I go as close as possible to the point of no return but don't actually get there. So I don't need to kegal or do anything to keep semen inside, nor do I have an orgasm.
      Start: March 3, 2014 : BPEL=182mm, EG=146mm.
      Current: October 4, 2014 : BPEL=204mm, EG=150mm.

        I appreciate the replies, and MrB, I read through that but I don't think I got an answer to my question.

        Is it unhealthy? I have been jelqing for 1 month now and just recently started doing it.

          This is not related to jelqing, you need to condition your pelvic floor muscles with regular and reverse kegels first before attempting DOs and MMOs to avoid injuries.

            It's a tough question to answer because I'm not sure whether it's the ejaculating or the orgasm that (questionably) is considered to affect gains.

            Masturbation is a dodgy discussion because most people will say it's healthy, but here in the gym, we are generally against it because of the state of mind associated with it, and that it could affect gains.

            Edging is great, certainly continue with that, but until somebody better informed than myself can offer some answers for you, I would suggest stopping before you orgasm when you do your edging sessions.

              If you're Kegel timing is just a little off then you may be forcing semen up your urinary track and yes that is unhealthy and you may not know it or learn the proper timing unless you do the work. I'm using Minuteman's DO Guide exercises to help assure I have a well balanced pelvic floor to one day try DO. You may have stumbled upon it, but without the proper foundation work it may be fleeting.
