was just wondering when i measure i stand straight but my feet are close together.i read it should be shoulder width. is that going to add or subtract from my length from having them close together? is there a proper way i should stand?

It really doesn't matter how you measure as long as you are consistent. Sitting, standing, leg placement all can change your measurement slightly, (not a lot, just slightly) so just make sure you measure the same way everytime.

Just as lilbigman said, consistency is key. Also, when you use a ruler to measure your length, make sure you check to see if the measurments start right from the very end of the ruler, or if there is a slight gap between the end of the ruler and the beginning of the measurments. On the ruler I have there is a 3mm gap between the end and the first measurement tick, so I add 3 mm my measurment.

Example: I measure 185mm on the ruler, so I add 3mm to make up for the gap. Actual measurment= 188mm
