  • Did I overwork my penis?

    Hey so I'm on my 5th week of jelqing (2nd day today of 3 today). I just started to incorporate the JP90 stretches and some V jelqs into my routine.

    On Thursday I had some issues getting to the proper erection level to jelq. I could only maintain around a 50 or 60% erection. Today, I had the same issue, however worse. I could only get to about 50% erection before I had to stop because I simply couldn't get hard enough to maintain a correct jelq.

    I haven't issues with getting fully hard throughout the past few days.

    Have I overworked my penis? If so, how long should I wait to restart?

    Sounds like you are overworking it to me. Take some time off until your EQ improves. When you begin again start at a lower intensity and let your PI's be your guide as to the level of your workout you should be at.

        I agree you are likely over working. From your post you may be hitting negative PIs because you are trying to jelq when too high of an erection level is present. 50-60% erection level is excellent for jelqing. Never go above 70%. Rest until EQ rebounds, and then use less force. Good luck.

          I don't think I've ever gone above 70% and I've only slowly up-ed my routine (from 100 reps week 1, to 200, to 300, to adding 60 V -jelqs, etc.). The only thing I'm confused about is how I overworked my penis from - at least from my perspective - slowly incorporating jelqing into my life.

          I'm not sure if it would have anything to do with it but maybe I'm doing the stretches wrong from JP90? I've felt that the 2 days I've done those stretches have been the days where my penis felt the most "worked"

            It's possible that you're over stretching, with the JP90 stretches, I like to do a couple of the circle stretches lightly to start, I sometimes feel it's too much to jump into the directional ones with the kegels from the beginning.

            That being said I'd agree with Wishful about the jelqing, 50-60% is primo jelqing level, you have enough blood to move and cause engorgment but not so much that you're putting excessive pressure on yourself. I always like to start my jelq session at a lower level and build up to the 50-60 as I go.

              Oh okay, I always thought that jelqing at too low of an erection could cause injury too. So it's okay to begin if I'm a little under 50 or even 40 and work my way up right?

                Definitely. As far as I know there isn't any danger to jelqing at a low level unless you're using excessive force. For now you should be using a fairly light grip. For the record I like doing them overhand so you can get your thumb/forefinger ring all the way to the pubic bone.

                  Everybody responds differently to the exercises. Some can handle a little more intensity at first, others are a little more sensitive to it. The same goes for the amount of work required to see gains, some have to work harder and for others less is more. Stay in the zone of positive PI's, you may turn out to be one of the ones who can gain with less.

                      I had same problem so I just added kegels. Problem solved! But it may be smart to back off a tad as well.

                        I dont think you need a week. You can recover pretty quick. I guage by morning wood or how sore my dick is the next day when I start to jelq. If it still feels sore, I'll take a break that day. Just go by how you feel. I always try to ride the edge of overtraining to maximize gains.

                          Yes if u seen any lower erection quality you need to rest ur penis is fatigued. Good news is u may see little gains. But you should do a lot of kegels to bring back erection quality and speed up recovery

                              I actually tried to see how the session would go today, except I returned to my old routine. Overall, it went just as good as normal. Tbh, my erections thus far today have felt extremely hard and I've managed to seemingly gain a bit more (up to 5.5 now!).

                              Thanks everyone for the help and concern! I think I'll be sticking to my routine for a bit longer haha maybe switch to JP90 in a month or two
