So a thought I had was if you are eating high glycemic foods before training one wants to get to the gym before your blood sugar crashes . Something slower like oats this is less of an issue .
Any want to put some numbers re amount on the meals ?

Much will depend on what you're going for diet-wise. Certainly you'll want to be fueled for your training, but this doesn't necessarily mean using a sugar boost (though this can give the desired immediate effect).
A high glycemic index meal is a good idea immediately after a muscle building workout as it not only replenished glycogen, etc. but also induces an insulin surge. Insulin is very anabolic.
Care should be taken with this approach as insulin is indiscriminately anabolic to many tissues- including fat and some types of cancer. Too much insulin boosting can also contribute to diabetes.
