The thing is I am not scared at all, I am simply using my common sense. Radiation that is directed or near the penis and testicles can cause erectile dysfucntion by damaging the nerves. Why was I told to flush twice if the pee wasnt radioactive?? To prevent my family from sitting and being exposed to that radiation. So obviosuly when peeing and sitting down that radiation was very close to my bare testicles and penis. I am not going to sit here and say that this is the reason but how could it not be when it happened a couple days after taking that pill while my whole life I have never had a problem with my erections. I dont want to argue with you but you came off as being rude and I was not okay with that but its fine, at the end of the day I came on this forum to see what others think and I respect your opinions, the truth is it doesnt matter cause its not going to change the fact that my dick has a weak erection now.

Chris13,
Been there, had that pill. The radiation in the pill is very low, just enough for the scanners to pick up. The doctors advised me to keep my children from hugging and direct contact for the rest of the day. But this is just to be 1000% sure no radation is transferred. Chances of anything happening are extremely low, just about zero. Still they take these precautions to better be safe than sorry. Ask your doctor for information.
After that, I had much worse than the pill, and recovered completely. Nothing bad in the erection department and the semen department because of this.

Do you have any ed problems at all?
Do you have graves?
I know what treatment your talking about because I might have to end up doing it as well. I have hyperthyrodisim from a nodule growth in my thyroid.
Also I cant say that my penis being near the radiation could cause ed since like you said it is a low amount of radiation but this is all that I can point to as a cause because litearlly the day before I even took this pill I was popping my normal erections out like it was nothing and couple days after the pill I was confused because for the first time I couldnt get hard and it is not psychological because I never once thought that this pill would do anything to my penis when taking it.Last edited by chris13; 06-28-2016, 12:26 AM.

Hi Chris13,
My advice: don't worry about it. My guess is that you are so stressed out by your illness that your erection is temporarily out of order. No wonder, you're only human.
The semen part, who knows, can be all sorts of causes, but not the pill IMO. I'm not a doctor, so in doubt please check. I'm not qualified to inform you other than what I experienced. At no time I was informed that this kind of risk was at hand, actually I was told there was no risk involved at all.
I don't mean to be rude, and please don't take this personally, but I'm not inclined to further elaborate about the whys and whats of my circumstances. This just isn't the forum for it, and there are probably lots of fora especially created for the challenges you are facing or are about to face. What I can say is that you're situation doesn't seem really all that bad. Things could be a hundred times worse, and you would still walk away with your dick and semen production in tact.
Alternatively, if you're seriously in doubt about your future fertility, you could ask about having your semen deep frozen, again ask your doctor, consult your parents or GF. Any doctor would inform you upfront if there was any danger of you getting impotent or infertile. You being 18 years old, it is just common sense that you are not a parent yet. They will not begin treatment before they will inform you about the risks. So talk to your parents, talk to your doctor, there are many people who will help and support you.
Good luck, I hope you get well. First get better, and then return to the forum when you feel that you're ready for it - who knows what tricks you will pick by then.
Seems to me you have a lot on your mind, and that is way more important than getting an erection atm. Concentrate on that.
Cheers, and positive vibes to ya.

You're going to get a lot of opinions here but none are going to confirm anything to the degree a check up and detailed explanation of your procedure's effects by your doctor would. At the very least, a follow up should void any potential factor anxiety's playing in your particular issue.Originally posted by chris13 View PostDo you have any ed problems at all?

Hi CUSP82,
I was hoping he would check in too, have checked once or twice.
Then again the pill may be the starting point to many many things, scans, checks, blood samples and what not. I bet he has a lot on his mind now, other than getting an erection or checking in with us.
Could be anywhere between 1 month and 10. Quite a bit more if something hefty is going on.

Hey cusp and goku
I am going to have my thyroid killed off soon but about my penis, I am still having weak erections and now I have begun having dry orgasms. Also no morning wood as well since the scan I did. I have no idea why this has happened but yea thanks for checking back on me.Last edited by chris13; 07-08-2016, 07:08 AM.

Hi chris13,
Good to hear that you're ok. The thyroid gland is pretty important to your general well being. That might very well impact your erection. After your thyroid is killed off, you're probably have to take some medicine, and it may take a while before that balance off.
Take care and see you back at the forum.
