  • Help!!!

Hi all, I'm so grateful to have found this site and hopeful I can improve my ED situation which is terribly affecting my life.
I'm 44, single, and about 1.5 year ago I started experiencing the following symptoms:
    - Little to no morning wood.
    - Hardly any spontaneous erections.
    - Drastic reduction in masturbation due to lack of desire. Used to do it every other day or so but now hardly ever and when I do I almost have to force myself to do it and it feels like work to try to fantasize to stay even moderately hard. I can make myself come if I really want but it often happens without actually being hard.
    - Drastically reduced EQ when I do have an erection, perhaps 5/10 with some variation between perhaps 3/10 (common) and 8/10 (rare)
    - Erections are brief and often disappear before I can complete sex. That's if I'm even hard enough to have sex which sometimes I'm not.

I want to have sex when I'm with a woman (which is pretty often) but can barely stay hard long enough to come myself, never mind her. I can literally be with a hot naked woman and barely get it up, it's truly frustrating. I did used to watch porn every other day or so for a couple of years but haven't watched any for months now just in case it was desensitizing me. I thought porn could be the problem because the only thing that helps me a little bit is to have, or fantasize about, very intense / dominant / aggressive sex. But even with women who are game for that I have trouble keeping my erection though it does help. it's to the point where I'm afraid to even initiate sex because I know that I likely won't be able to finish the job anyway which is terribly frustrating.
I lift weights and I'm not overweight but I could probably do better with my cardio. I've recently changed my diet and started taking some herbal supplements but haven't noticed any real results, at least not yet.
I have an appointment with a men's heath specialist in December but I'm worried he'll just want to pump me full of drugs and I feel that at 44 I shouldn't need that, at least not yet.
Thanks in advance for any help, I can't believe how debilitating this is and have endless compassion for all of you out there who struggle with this in one form or another.
    Gratefully,
    Dan
PS: I have noticed over the years that when masturbating I used to just relax and the boner would come easily and quickly, but in later years I started kegelling to essentially come more quickly. This might not make sense to someone who hasn't experienced it. I'm not sure if this is relevant information but didn't want to leave it out.

I am 49 yrs old and started having ED issues around the age of 40. My family dr checked my testosterone level and found I had low T. He prescribed viagra and wanted me to try TRT with gel. I did not want to start TRT at the age of 40 so I tried the Viagra and other ED meds for the last 9 years. I did not take the ED meds all the time because I did not need 100% of the time. Last Spring a different issue started where I could get hard and ready for sex and when I would enter my wife or not long after entering, the erection would go away and I would be limp. Discussed with my Family Dr in July 2018 and he tested testosterone and it was very low for my age, 272. He recommended trying a cock ring and begin TRT with Andro-gel. So I have been using both for about 4 months. I was applying 2 tubes a day and retested again after 6-8 weeks and my T levels were way too high, 1500. I am doing 1 tube a day now and will be tested again in late November. My sex drive has really increased, but did notice any morning wood or spontaneous erections during the months of July-Sept. I started JP90 on Oct 1 and have noticed morning wood returning, especially the last week. I think the exercising is helping my EQ and the sex drive is improving with TRT. My nuts have drastically decreased in size, I read that would be one of the side effects. Several members on this site warned me about starting TRT and that my body would stop producing natural T. I am not sure if I am benefiting from the TRT or not.

Good Luck! Hope you will get some good advice. Sorry I could not offer any positive suggestions.

I found this site while looking for solutions for my ED problems I read that one of the first results many see is improved EQ. I had nothing to loose so I gave it a try and it did help. However there was one side effect that wouldn't go away, my dick was getting bigger.

Now you say that you have a lack of desire and that will effect your EQ. Do you have a lot of stress in your life right now? Another big factor is your anxiety over this. Even when your with a woman having performance anxiety can definitely kill an erection. I suffered from this at times even after I improved my EQ. When your focusing more on trying to maintain or the thought of loosing your erection rather than your arousal it can kill an erection.
To totally satisfy a woman sexually is not about having a large penis, it's about being a good lover.

Thanks for your responses, here are some answers and added information:
        My hormone levels are:
        T - 488 ng/dl
        Free T - 9 ng/dl
        LH - 5 mIU/ml
        Prolactin - 11.9 ng/ml
        Estradiol - 23.4 pg/ml
        DHEA sulfate - 264.9 ug/dl
        SHBG - 35 nmol/l
        IGF-1 147 ng/ml
Other less related levels but that are kind of high/low are:
        Albumin 5.1 g/dl
        Hemoglobin 5.7%
        Total cholesterol 215 mg/dl
        LDL cholesterol 124 mg/dl
        HDL cholesterol 73 mg/dl
        CRP - 4.8 mg/l

I do have some stress in my life, mostly due to this issue, but it doesn't feel overwhelming and when this started I had very little stress of any kind, at least that I was aware of.
I'm not prone to performance anxiety and even now I have a pretty easy time staying calm when I'm with a woman, centering myself and just seeing if the little guy will work that day.
I have been feeling a bit sluggish and fatigued for a while though and thought I had adrenal exhaustion but was tested and that wasn't the case. Those symptoms can also be Low T but my level doesn't seem that low, I don't know.
        Thanks again.

          You have low testosterone .

You should be able to raise it to a far more functional level with natural methods . It shocks me how docs keep wanting to go to drugs without even considering natural methods .

Of course there is the thing where everyone wants a pill . Post if you are interested in natural methods and i will send some links.

Here is a master link to my work on the subject . It has a number of links within it . Research will show a large amount of info on the net on natural improvement . Unfortunately the quality varies .

That us so true. My doc has been pushing me to try the Androgel for years. I finally gave in, wish I had found PE forum before starting TRT. Someone told me once I start TRT that the natural methods would not work.

Thanks Pegasus, I am very interested and will look at the thread. I have already done a lot of reading on the subject hence the diet change and adding the supplements. I now take zinc, selenium, tongkat Ali (longjack), Vitamin D, and several others...
