  • Are injections to induce erections safe?

    Hey guys,

I’m going on Wednesday to a specialist urologist and i’m going to request the ultrasound to be done, either erect or flacid. I don’t have insurance so i’m spending a total of over £500. This is why i need to get this right.

IS A PENILE INJECTION TO INDUCE ERECTION TO COMPLETE THE ULTRASOUND TEST ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO DIAGNOSE PEYRONIES/PENILE ISSUES? OR IS FLACID OKAY? JUST NOT AS 100% accurate? Not sure what they use but the common ingredient seems to be called prostaglandins E1, brand names: Caverject, sildenafil etc..

Now this injection scares the crap out of me (Not because i’m scared of injections) but i’m scared of the side effects, Possible side effects actually include ‘Peyronies disease’ or penile fibrosis etc.. I just cannot take that risk no matter how rare it may be.. Also Priapism does not sound fun and then someones got to drain blood out of your penis or inject more needles! I really don’t want to do it! And i’m happy with the results of the flacid test from the below study, which is not massively different to an erect test. I may not have any peyronies based on my symptoms so i would hate to create an issue that i don't have.

I have seen this study which shows that erections will make it more accurate but this study also shows flacid ultrasound is accurate and is not far off the erect test: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fphar.2019.00312/full
Please could you help me out here guys.

(Also, it's only been one month since i 'did' something, theres nothing palatable to feel, would ultrasound show anything?)

Flaccid ultrasound does work but is not as reliable as erect ultrasound. However, keep in mind that even erect ultrasound is not always accurate.

Sildenafil is Viagra and, accordingly not an injection. However, Sildenafil can be used to Induce an erection for an ultrasound.

There is virtually no way a single injection will generate plaque in your penis. I used Trimix injections two or three times a week over three years without generating any plaque.

A typical thing I see is guys never being satisfied with the result of tests and just geting endless tests .

Some guys seem to have an endless need for reassurance .

When done with doctor it is safe. And single or even few injections do not generate fibrosis.

Holy shit man 500 pounds. Do let us know how it plays out. Do you have erect bending, do you feel any hard, lentil structure/shape objects on the edges of tunica albuginea?

If your answer is no, there most likely won't be any findings on the ultrasound and you are going to waste a whole lot of money. I had 3 ultrasounds and while none of them found anything, I still, like Pegasus says, do not feel reassured enough as the doctors did them quickly and the last one even refused to check my penis as he said that because he does not feel anything, no one would be seen there.

It is your money but I would definitely advise you to hold off unless you do, in fact have erect bending and palpable indentation.

Only if a good doctors does it... I would never do those myself though. I take some pills I get from <<URL REMOVED BY MODERATOR>>, and that's my max
