  • What do I say to my doctor?

Okay, I think it's about time I get this checked out properly by a physician, but holy shit it's gonna be embarrassing; probably the most embarrassing thing I've ever done in my life. So do I arrange an appointment with my GP, meet her, and say I have erection difficulties and want to check if it's physical? That shit is gonna suck so bad. I want to get all the tests done, blood tests for hormones (testosterone etc) and a penis physical...

I'm really depressed right now. Only 24...

You've just got to do it, get it over with and don't think about it. I've had to go show atleast 6 people my shrunken dick, It wasn't easy but I just said fuck this i'm tired of it. Having that mentality really helped me get through alot of shit, instead of being depressed and weak. As long as you have money on your side you should be fine, i'm currently unemployed (still searching right now) and don't have the insurance or money to get full blood work done, which really sucks ass lol.

Only 23 here hang in there bud you ain't alone, I swear I've been cursed...

hey man im 23 too.. so its a bunch of us young guys! were not a lone! how sad though that people are age are dealing with these issues..

anyway, you could also just find a good local urologist , preferably a man, and tell him whats up.. that way you wont have to see your female GP who will probably just refer you to a uro anyway.. then again might be good to ask her for a rec.

dont worry about it.. doctors are professionals.. its what they do for a living and if they are worth seeing they will be caring and listen to you ..

Yeah, this would be the way to go if your insurance allows you to go right to a specialist ... and the embarrassment factor should go to about zero.

If she is good looking enough maybe everything will be cured right there! Don't be embarrassed; it isn't something she hasn't heard many times before!

Doctors treat people with erection problems all the time -- don't worry what she's going to think of you. Just go and tell the truth. Your doctor is a professional; you shouldn't be embarrassed. As a woman, I've had to bare myself for all sorts of male doctors over the years. It may not be fun but you can do it. The most important thing is to be sure to tell her EVERYTHING so she has a full arsenal of facts to help her figure out how to help you.

Be brave -- you can do this!

She has heard this many times. She can help you.

enlargen, I'm a doc. I hear all the time "I am so embarrassed to talk to you about ..." then after they talk about it the next thing I hear out of their mouth is "Man, I'm so glad I finally talked to you about it." Docs can't help you unless you are totally honest with them. And the good docs will listen to you, be sympathetic, and find answers for you. If your GP can't find the answers, then she'll find someone who can.

Men especially seem to be programmed to not admit when something is wrong with them. It's tied up in the machismo thing. But to get better, you just have to get over it and tell all. A good doc will never judge you. I hear it all, and I mean ALL, and I never walk out of the room with any thought other than how I will help them.

By the way tell your doctor as much information as you can write it down on a piece of paper. There is no shame in this. If you fail to admit to a health problem it will only get worse. If i had gone to a doctor when my mother told me i should the hypothyroid would have been taken care of sooner and i would not of had to gaine so much weight. this led to diabetes and diabetes led to blindness then end stage renal failure. Never procrastinate. My sight was restored by the way with many laser surgeries and 2 vetrectomies.
