Just wondering how long after you take a cialis does it start to work? Also, how long does it stay in your system and be effective? Just looking for some real-world input... thanks.

Should work in about an hour, should have a therapeutic effect for 72 hours give or take a couple of hours.

I would give it an hour and it remains effective for up to 3 days. The effects are cumulative so you can take a relatively small dosage (5 to 10 mg) on a daily basise and be ready to go at any time. I have relatively severe ED as a side effect of diabetes and I am taking 10 mg daily and I can work up a 50% semi which I can increase to 90% with constriction on any given day. Without Cialis, I am unable to get it to rise at all.

I took my first try of cialis & didnt have any results!! It was a 10mg pill. Disappointing! Ugh...

Cialis (Tadalafil) is available in 10 mg and 20 mg tablets and should be taken orally 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. Effectiveness may onset in 15 to 30 minutes and can last as long as 36 hours for one dose, facilitating spontaneity. No more than one tablet should be taken in a single 24-hour period.

For me it takes about 2 hours for decent effectiveness with over night the best. (My morning wood goes through the roof). And as others say it lasts about 36 hours. 10 mg is standard dose and worked with me at 145 lbs. I ordered the generic tadafil. It only came in 20 mg. So I can choose to break it in half or take the whole thing. For some guys Cialis and or Viagra dn work.

It depends on the person. For me, it kicks in in about 7-8 hrs. and last 2-3 days. If I ever take, I take it right before falling asleep and wake up with a steel rod.

Jackxxx, I'm pretty much certain you don't have ED, so is it just for recreational purposes you use cialis?
As a matter of interest, how many people here use these type of drugs to get super human erections, even though their junk is working normally without?

Samurai: that's an interesting question, especially when you look more closely at the aging male. What does "working normally" mean at age 50 or 60? What does it mean when a 50-60 year old whose junk is supposedly working normally, but gets soft at the wrong moment once too often? I have been going back and forth with this for maybe 5 years. The stuff gives me confidence. I want it in me when I absolutely need to perform either for myself or for her. I also seize the opportunity to screw when the Cialis is not in my system because it proves to me I can do it. Given the fact that I can now get generic Tadafil at $1 a pill instead of $15 a pill I am leaning more and more to keeping it in my system a lot of the time. Maybe it's wrong, but my performance anxiety has just about vanished and I now look forward to a screw with relative confidence when it's not in my system.

God bless the indian pharmacy market. Otherwise, we would be broke here in the U.S paying these ridiculous prices just so people that really need it can actually have a sense of normalcy with their loved one

I completely understand where you are coming from with the performance anxiety, mvergasioin. I'm 38 and have been on a dry spell sexually for awhile now. Whenever this happens, I get performance anxiety before the performance has even started. Even though in my past experiences, my erections have worked, I still have the odd niggling feeling that I'll flop. I was just wondering would something like cialis give me a little confidence when I get back on the saddle. My biggest issue is putting on condoms(50% of the time I lose it putting it on) and as I am going traveling this summer, I want to make sure I have protected sex. A few times before, I tried to have sex without the condom because of fear of losing my erection putting it on. I was thinking maybe cialis would give me some confidence and give me less things to worry about while having sex. I'm worried about taking these drugs because I feel too young to take them and I don't really have ED. What do you guys think?

I think the std starting dose is 10mg. 10 and 20 mg work well for me at abt 145 lbs.
