  • back problems vs. ED...please help

Hi, i'm not new here but i've been lurking for sometime and absorbing information. However i haven't come across anyone mentioning about back pain and erection problems.

Well to tell my story, i'm 23. I injured my back by lifting AC, Furnaces in a job back in 2006. It escalated worse the following year lifting weights at the gym. I kept on working out because i didn't mind the pain. i noticed my erection problems 2 years later. Perhaps it was the ghetto-ass hanging thing i put on my penis. It was not good. i shouldn't have hung anything from my junk. So i stopped PEing for 2 years but kept going to gym and being fit. Forward to 2011, back pain was soo immense that i had to go to chiropractor and my erection problems worsened. I would get hard but during the thrusting, the erection ceased to exist and slowly deminished. After i would come, my penis would hurt. I am waiting for my MRI soon. I stopped lifting weights for a year now .

I was just wondering if any of bright people could shed some light on this? Thank you soo much.

You might have hurt yourself hanging. Do you watch a lot of porn? I don't think back problems would effect your erections too much.. Maybe you strained your pelvic floor muscles as well as your back. I'm not really sure what to say. How long did you practice hanging? How much weight/how long did you try to hang?

Back problems, especially lower back problems, can actually effect erections. It's a tricky area though since the problems come from nerve damage that really needs to be diagnosed by doctors.

It will be interesting to find out the results of the MRI. If your pain is sciatica, there are several exercises that can be helpful. Leg raises to strengthen the stomach muscles and realign the spine, and the yoga pose 'the upward dog' to push the herniated discs back in place thus relieving the pressure on the sciatic nerve. If your back pain is other than sciatica, muscular for instance, you need rest and therapy. Good luck!

Was the MRI ordered because of your ED issues, or just because of the history of back problems?

I had a MRI done in 2010 for my back..it said no major deviation. Whenever i would get injured, i would get back to normal within a week. but this time, it affected my penis. So, i went to a neurologist, she ordered a MRI on the pelvis area and near the genital area but havent heard from the hospital for the MRI appt. So, i went to family dr and asked him to set up MRI for my lower back.... which is soon.
