  • ED from Hernia Surgery?

I had an inguinal hernia surgery over a year ago and ever since have not been able to maintain an erection on my own. I'm 24 years old now and have been living a pretty health lifestyle the majority of my life. I don't obsess over this issue, but every couple of months I will start to try and solve why it's happening. Here is where I'm at and maybe somebody out there can help me

Before the surgery, like any 22 year old I could get rock hard no problem.
at the same time I needed surgery I also had encountered an STD - Molluscum Contagiosum, so that's something to keep in mind for the psychological aspect.

Two days after surgery, I whacked off, penis didn't seem to get as hard then and I thought it was probably just from the surgery and it would fix it self in a couple of days. I also remember pulling my package up and over my sweat pants at one point when I really had to pee and hearing a popping noise the first day I was out of the hospital. So there's something for the physical argument.

. Viagra works which begs the question, is this all on me? Is it something psychological? Something in my head?
. I have been to a urologist, blood work came back fine (free testosterone included, no diabetes etc)
. Could this be from the surgery? I have read online that the suspensory ligament of the penis is susceptible to being harmed in the process of an inguinal hernia surgery. Also I have never felt the same since the surgery, , , I've always felt kind of blocked / disconnected down there since and this seems to make sense.
. This is not porn-induced ED. I never really watched that much of it, and over the last year I have gone months at a time (the most being 4) without watching porn or masturbating.
. Occasionally I still have morning wood, but rarely.

Like any guy I'm just trying to get some closure on it. If I'm gonna need a pill for the rest of my life, whatever. That sucks, but as long as it works I can make do with it, I really do just want to KNOW why this happened. Thanks to anyone who can help

other factors: Ride a bike all the time, surf all the time, have been running five miles a day and going to the gym 2-4 times a week for the last 4 months, didn't drink at all for two months straight, etc. Lifestyle is definitely healthy, it has been about a year and a half since surgery and nothing has changed.

If Viagra helps you then most probably it is all in your head, you should try psychotherapy or, if you don't want it/can't afford it, try some of the meditation techniques for relaxing.

I'm no doctor so I don't know if there might be some physical damage, the urologist should be able to determine that (btw. what did he say?).

Also, some of the guys here on forum mentioned that bicycle seat can also do damage to the prostate or some muscles, so either get one which is really good or stop cycling.
