    Ok so this article is saying that doing kegals alone will do nothing for your pelvic floor. It's saying you also have to incorporate squats into the mix.

    great idea and article. The body is a system of pulleys and if you keep doing 1000s of contractions on one side, its bound to imbalance something.

    if squats pull the pelvic floor in the other direction you should definitely do squats. Added benefits from squats include increased overall strength, improved circulations in the groin, and stimulating testosterone production so they definitely wont hurt you if you are doing them right. I hear they are the foundation of almost every strength training program anyway.

      This is a similar idea to what we are talking about here with reverse kegels. We also have a wide range of physical stretches ( which is what she is talking about with the squat). MarcusHa has 2 threads on physical stretches in the pre e forum.
      I often talk about balance in the pelvic floor ,it is possible to have too little contraction (kegels) and too much stretch (rk or physical stretch)

        Good article, That's the reason why I started recommending pelvic core exercises as well as kegels, so that you're also training the pelvic floor as part of the core as well as in isolation.

        When people train in kegels only then they're creating tense tight muscles which can lead to things like PreE. The trouble is that most sources that recommend kegels for things don't include reverse kegels, By training in both you're developing muscle control so that you don't have tight muscles pulling on the sacrum all the time, but training the glutes as the balancing muscle to relieve the pull on the sacrum is interesting. It may be useful to guys suffering from PreE with a tense pelvic floor and are struggling with reverse kegels.

        I might be useful to recommend squats as well as reverse kegel to guys with physical PreE.
