  • Position Related Hardness

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question, but it's the closest I could find. When I'm doing my PE routine and I'm seated I have to fight against becoming fully erect, often taking short breaks to calm down enough to continue jelqing. However, when I'm standing I never have this problem and I'm usually at just the right % for jelqing. The problem occurs when I'm having sex, if I'm in a standing position I experience less sensation and can lose my erection. Even with blowjobs if I'm standing to receive it's much harder for me to reach orgasm.

I'm not sure if this is a psychological problem or not. I'm in pretty good shape and my blood pressure has always been just about perfect. Any ideas what might cause this?

    Heya, phoenix -

I'm no expert but I would think much of this could relate to pelvic floor balance. I have had similar experiences and especially in a day where I have done a run or other workouts using my hips or legs. I've spent a lot more time doing my PE workouts standing to actually counter the response.

I actually think that kegeling and reverse kegeling through stretches while standing over the past few months have improved it for me.

      Gravity also plays a role!

Everyone experiences this I think so no need to worry about it being entirely psychological - there may be some psychological element but I think it's mainly a pelvic thing and a gravity thing.

If it comforts you or whatever it's the same for me. At least on the sensitivity side of things, when standing I can get harder than laying and sitting though. Laying down and getting an erection is hard for me.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. It hasn't been a big problem, and ATP, I have been running more, plus I walk a lot on a day to day basis so that could indeed be a part of it. I haven't had a lot of luck with reverse kegels but I'll try them again and see how it affects me.

This is due to postural changes and how they effect blood pressure and heart rate. This is controlled by your autonomic nervous system, some people are more sensitive to postural changes and some people are less sensitive. A good test to do is to take your heart rate while sitting for 5-10 minutes, then take it again immediately after standing. If the change is greater than 20 beats per minute, you may have mild postural intolerance.
