  • What is causing my ED??

    I am 26 years old. When I was like 22 and younger, I remember being able to get hard and stay hard just from mental or visual stimulation. But after that, things changed, and now I seem to only be able to get hard from physical stimulation, like touching myself or in some cases when my penis is pushing against my pants. But as soon as the physical contact ceases, my erection starts to go away quickly. I also used to be able to get hard and stay hard while standing up. Now I seem only able to get hard while sitting or laying down and usually lose it if I stand up.

    I have been this way for at least 2-3 years now. What does it sound like is causing my ED? Does the fact that I can get hard with physical stimulation mean it's psychological and not physical? Or could it still be physical? It isn't just aging is it? I would think most 26 year old guys can get hard without physical stimulation and can stay hard standing up. What is going on?

    Do you watch porn?

    Do you have other health problems?

    Do you masturbate excessively?

    Are you stressed, anxious or depressed?


    From your other thread, I suspect it is your masturbation habits, prone masturbation affected your penis.

      I'm going to agree, sounds like poor masturbatory habits.

      If you are watching Porn, stop for a couple of months, then I'd advise you not start back up.

      Definitely take some time off of masturbation, once your erections come back you will need to change your masturbatory habits. Only masturbate and ejaculate with a strong hard erection.

      You may have developed some Pelvic core imbalances, there is a wealth of information here on correcting those imbalances. A good Kegel/Reverse Kegel routine will help.

      Starting a simple light Jelq based PE routine like JP90 will also help.

      this is basically how you address this kind of problem.
      Initial(9-1-11): BPEL: 7.25", BPSFL: 7.75", EG: 4.75", BEG: 5.25", BPFL: ~5.0", FG: ~4.0"

        This is not ed.
        The 2 biggest issues with cases like this, are general poor lifestyle (eg bad eating and exercise habits) and stress.

          If the prone masturbation affected my penis, could it be a permanent thing or is it something that can easily be reversed?

          I watch porn sometimes, but not that much. But I do get on webcam chat sites with hot models and I often play with myself while talking to them. I layed off porn for a while and it didn't seem to do much. I do have some anxiety sometimes, but not sure if it would be considered serious.

            I do exercise regularly and I am not that stressed. What other habits could be causing it?

              You are stressed and watch porn ,diet may also be an issue.

                Hi Shadix,

                I agree with the others, sounds very much like a porn/poor masturbation habits.

                Follow the guys advice and see if there is any improvement after a month or two. I'd also recommend taking zinc and garlic in case it is a nutrient issue.

                  Do you take any drugs? Supplements?
                  Could be a mindset thing, how many times have you actually attempted to have sex in the last 2-3 years you state this problem has been going on?

                    How is your morning wood? If you are still getting decent morning wood I would think it is more mental than physical.
                    (Late 1999): 6" BPEL x 5.25" MSEG
                    (Early 2001): 7" BPEL x 5.75"MSEG (mostly Hanging/Jelqing)
                    Aug 16th 2015: 7.375" BPEL x 6" MSEG
                    Goal: I have retired from PE - So my goal is just maintaining.

                      I actually don't find myself getting erections as I am waking up. Not sure if it matters, but I do tend to wake up later, like around noon. However, I do sometimes find myself getting hard while sitting with my penis pushing against my pants and when I would ride the bus in the past, and it would seem to happen more during the morning time. But as far as waking up in bed and finding myself erect, no can't say I've noticed that happening at all lately.

                        Ok, while I haven't been watching a lot of porn, I can say that I HAVE been going on webcam model chats and when talking to the girls on there I would usually pleasure myself by pushing my penis against a pillow or rubbing with my hand. This kind of thing would have the same effect as porn, right?

                        I actually have not had sex in over two years now. The last times I've had sex, I had a lot of trouble getting hard. Since then I've been out of the game for a while.

                          Because you are a youung guy, more likely it can be psychogenic ED. You can find usefull info ab Psychological Causes here: Psychological Causes | Erectile Dysfunction Or find out, maybe you use some medications that can cause ED.
