I havent watched porn in 20 days but I have been finding it difficult to get an erection without porn, and it is hard to maintain that erection for an extended period of time. How long does it take to re condition myself? It has been 20 days and counting.

I have been on a mission to give up porn for a while. I gave it up about 2 months ago, especially from the allowing it as a source of getting off. thing is..I have looked at it from time to time..but never with the mission to get off, just more out of habit of looking at it..but what is interesting is I don't feel anything looking at it. It's like a battle of my mind...I don't want to look at it and I don't want to get off from it, but I still don't mind looking at it. But I don't get an erection nor do I get aroused looking at it at all.
It's very interesting to say the least whereas before when I used it as a method of getting off, my body naturally responded when I looked at it.
Now its like I look at it, yet force myself not to be aroused. I have only gotten off like 4 times in the last 2 months. You would think I'd be a walking hardon..but I am not. kind of concerns me.

I agree. Porn makes it thousands of times harder to get an erection in foreplay. And masturbating without porn was also a challenge when i was watching it.
Edit: weather of not this is the definition of erectile dysfunction is a question i guess.. But it's close enough for me to call it "ED"

I know exactly what you mean. I watched porn so much that I literally became almost immune to it and simply looked at it out of habit mostly. Once your body fails to get naturally aroused its time to cut the porn.Current goals: Lose weight, ditch porn completely and get in the habit of PE again.

that's the thing...I do get naturally aroused with my wife all the time. but during the day if I am by myself, on the computer, etc.. I simply don't get random erections or really even plump. Only time I find myself plump is if I end up thinking about sex (like with my wife) in my mind or manipulating myself via helecopters or whatever.Originally posted by Wantstobebetter View PostI know exactly what you mean. even if I am out and about and see a cute woman, it doesn't turn into getting plump or arousal at all. Though I am a very faithful man so it might simply be less of an evolutionary response in me (men mating with women) and more with my brain jumping in and saying "yea she is cute, but your faithful so no arousal response is needed".
and not that I want other women to arouse me..that isn't the point, it's whether my body is reacting to arousal the way it was built (as a man) should.

I watched all four parts of that series after finally admitting porn has led to ed for me. I'm two days in to giving up porn. Is it alright to keep pe'ing while desensitizing your brain from porn induced ed?Originally posted by Damien32 View PostHey I dont know if you can post links on this forum if you cant I'm sorry but here's a link on youtube I found that talks about porn and erectile dysfunction and explains everything in detail YouTube - Erectile Dysfunction and Porn: Part 1

Stamina work (kegels, and especially edging/Stop and Starts) are what's going to help you through this phase. When you do your edging, try doing it using mental visualizations only.Originally posted by abehr View PostI watched all four parts of that series after finally admitting porn has led to ed for me. "porn induced ed" si just a psicological matter and a forum trend.. listen to me, unplug youporn, go out, and go makin conversation with girl.. Im sure and I bet 1000$ on you that when IN THE REAL LIFE she well be next to you on a bed, with open legs, telling you dirty things, you will forget every "porn ed forum shit", and testosterone will make its natural course and you will make the best you've ever imagined, without thinking. Stop watching, start doing!Originally posted by trex View PostI remember a long time ago when i watched porn / looked at porn pics almost religiously in 7th grade that i was never able to get what you guys call "porn induced ED". I was always able to maintain and get random erections super hard throughout the day.
Now, thinking back on those days i wonder, if it really is possible to get porn induced ed. I ask this because i want to start jelqing with high erections soon and i lose erections alot during jelqing sessions. But when im watching porn i can maintain a woody for a lot longer.
Is "porn induced ed" just for older, older [40+] men, or am i vulnerable too?

I think and excessive amounts of porn certainly does have a huge impact. I am 30 and have had only 1 real long term relationship (5 years).. all the others have been like a month here.. a few months there.. So most of my life was watching porn. Like many other people here I went from looking a simple little photos and getting all turned on to moving on to different things at the "plain" stuff didn't arouse me any more. For me it got to the point where I couldn't sleep well at night if i didn't masturbate to porn before bed. I didn't have a problem in my early 20's but with my last girlfriend I noticed if I masturbated several nights in a row to porn when it came time for her; it wasn't the man I wanted to be. So then I thought i should take a break from porn.. and i did.. And I noticed a big change as it helped. Well now another year later i'm with a different girl now and even the slight break isn't helping anymore.. So now im cutting off porn all together. It's not my sex drive as i'm always horny, but i'm just not always erect unless I see what i consider "hot porn" now... I just hope getting totally away from porn will solve this issue.. it's frustrating
