  • How much do you Deadlift?

How much do you pull of the ground with regular barbell? And how much with trap bar?

With Regular bar my pr is over decade old 210 kg (463 lbs).

Trap bar with 4" raised handles just pulled set of 6x182,5 kg (402 lbs). Going after 500 lbs with that bar.

Likely in his class.. The guy I was training under won his weight class at the worlds in Sydney with a DL of 807 lb in the early 90's.. Probably pound for pound, the strongest power lifter in the history of the sport was Ed Coan..

I weigh 173 lb and I raw dl 370 no wraps or belt

If i use that stuff i can get in the 415 range, but there isnt much of a point of that imo.

no idea about the trap bar.

I like that deadlift is better meter for lower body strength compared to squat. That's because you can't basicly cheat in deadlift. In squat people tend to cheat by not going to adequate depth.

Have you try one hand dead lift? I train one hand deadlift using Iron Mind - Rolling Thunder handle.

Belt only, standard style: 555 lbs about 4 years ago. I've gotten into higher rep "breather" style deadlifts (405x20) and the workouts are going well

The IronMInd products are excellent, and I still have a 20+ year old catalog from them!

Hermann Görner did a one armed deadlift of 720 lbs back in 1920! While a large man in his day for competitive lifting, he was never recorded getting above 300 lbs in bodyweight.

I remember seeing australia's first 800lb plus deadlift . It was in Queensland in the 80's by Dino Tochi (probably spelled the name wrong). He was in the 110 kg class . I used to be a fan of powerlifting and go to watch the comps .
Couple times guys said i should try it i said i felt i didn't have any natural ability for it and my build being 75kg(165lb) and 186cm (6ft 1in) was part of that . They replied that Dino was tall and skinny well dino was 6ft 1 in like me but 110 cut (240lb) isn't that skinny to my mind.

245 kgs, my first competition deadlift. Deadlift bar and belt. Have done 270kgsx5 on a high handle trap bar which is way more back dominant. Was presumably not far off 320kgsx1 (HH trap bar), but for now the focus is powerlifting comp end of June.

I don't have these grippers. I do have an Ivanko gripper I use from time to time. I tent to stay around 12 & 5 to 12 & 7 for reps and holds , though not full closing (see http://brainwashinc.com/wp-content/u...en322x572.jpeg).

I'm not big into these macho threads. What if you can pull and push cables more than your body weight(215), is that anygood? I almost had the lat pulldown cable maxed out.
