  • Whey = Better absorption?

According to science whey is the best absorbed protein, but I don't feel like it is true. When I use whey protein my stools are too soft (sometimes almost liquid) like if my body is not using it and just throwing it to the toilet. I use a protein from Body Fortress that is a mix of whey, soy, and milk protein and my trips to the bathroom are normal. How is your experience with whey. Does it makes your stools soft or everything is fine?

It's true that whey as a supplement is a really good one. I drink a whey shake almost every day. But it's possible you have a sensitivity to whey. Some people have sensitivities to the proteins in cow's milk, especially when consumed in larger quantities, like a concentrated sport shake.

That said, many people have some level of gastric disturbance when they start consuming larger quantities of a protein from any source. For me, it's farting and goes away in a few days.
    Start: BPEL 6.75', EG 5.8", BPFL 4.5", FG 4.7", BPFSL 7.0"
    05/2021: BPEL 7.65”, EG 6.0”, BPFL 5.8”, FG 5.0", BPFSL 8.0"
    Goal: BPEL 8.0", EG 6.0", BPFL 5.75" FG 5.0", BPFSL 8.5"

In addition to the possibility of being intolerant to it, it's also possible that you're trying to consume more than you can absorb before it passes through the gut. If it takes a couple of hours to pass through, and you're only able to absorb, say, 10 grams in an hour, everything beyond 20 grams will just be passing through. Or something like that.

I've cut back on whey quite a bit. I love it for its convenience and bioavailability but too much of it at one time is inefficient and causes all manner of digestive discomfort for me. While it used to be a staple in my post-workout breakfast (in fact, essentially made up the bulk of my breakfast), it's now a small supplement and I prefer eggs instead.

Try using whey ISOLATE with low/zero carbs. I've found the higher carb whey mixes often cause digestive discomfort.

Same. My favorite right now is Ultimate Nutrition Iso Sensation.
