  • Paul Mckenna I can Make You Thin

    Hi guys,
For years and years I have battled with my weight loss. Its funny I have all the motivation in the world to lose weight.
However I always seem to just keep myself back subconsiously..

Anyway i am determined to start again even if I am lacking in motivation to get started
I have tried the above weight loss system in the past and have had great results with it.
Just wondered if any of you had ever tried it?
It is so so simple and it its in NO WAY a diet at all.. So no idea why I start well then stop.
Guess its usually if I have a bad day eating I think sod it and go back to my old ways again.

Anyway i think i have posted this to try and spur me on and see if any of you are having any sucess with weight loss.
Will check soem more threads after i write this.

Also I said in some previous threads that I know when I lose weight I have some hidded penis length in there The fat pad above my penis is hidding him lol.

    Have a good day guys

    See ya

Let's try to make your battle with weight a bit easier. Most people will set a weight, a number, and panic if they're over. I prefer to tell people to set a 10 pound range. Let's say if you want to be 175 your range is 165-185. When you find your self in the low end of the range, indulge yourself a bit more. When you're in the upper part of the range, well cut back and do a bit more exercise. It tends to work and gives you the freedom on those low days to just forget about what you're eating and let's you just eat it!
The world's still a toy if you just stay a boy!

As of today I have lost 43 pounds (and still have about 120 to go) and I have done it by watching calories and light cardio. What keeps me motivated, well I'll try to explain it, just remember I am deranged, and my motivation is my own and may not work for you. Well here it goes...

Fat people are weak and disgusting. They are a drain on society, and an embarrassment to the american way. Fat people are constantly looked down upon and made fun, and are at a disadvantage at everything they do. I hate that I am one of them, I must change. Plus I really want to fuck my neighbor lady.

One technique/approach that is currently working for me, is to limit choices.

I know that I have a sweet tooth & if I am not careful I will end up eating various sweets & chocolates. Recently I said, Ok if I MUST have something sweet then I will have a little honey on a Ryvita bread. That would be the only sweet option for me.

There are some days when I will have too much of the honey on Ryvita, but in the main I don't eat too much. Whereas if I have all the sweet options 'on the menu' & try to limit myself - I seem unable to do this.

Obviously, with the really healthy food - choice is encouraged!

I think all of the ideas here are good.

They key is just finding what works for you. For me, it wasn't enough to decide to get in shape. Since I don't control the food that's in my house (nor do I want to), I needed my wife's support to get in shape. On my end of things I started P90x--it was something new, and its a structured, organized program. With both combined I've made really great progress (P90x & my wifes support on a healthy diet).

Avoid Fad Diets You Can't Maintain
I lost about 40lbs in the past on a more extreme diet, but I didn't maintain it. This time the diet is very maintainable long term (I can eat like this for the rest of my life), and the workouts aren't bad either (the P90x workouts were very hard when I was out of shape, but I'm just about on week 7 now & I can tell I've improved a lot.

Here's what I think the real key is:
Find a workout or a hobby that keeps you in shape that you enjoy. Maybe if you're too out of shape, you'll be too embarrassed (or to out of shape) to compete, e.g. in a triathalon, racketball at the gym, or pick up soccer at a local field. I've got a fvery out-doorsy brother. He loves sport climbing. If he gets out of shape he runs distance, and then he just climbs to maintain (he has been at about 4.5% bodyfat or less for the last 20 years!). He's about my age (mid 30's).

            Critical: Find Something You Enjoy
I personally cannot run distance. I'm a semi-retired former division 1 athelete, so my body is messed up a bit from atheltics & I've had a few surgeries. The details don't matter except that I can no longer run distance. However, I find P90x doesn't hurt me, so it appears I have found something I can do long term. LIfting at the gym doesn't bother me either but that was getting mundane (all i did for 10 years after college was lift, and after a while it got incredibly mundane).

So that's it... the key is making your lifestyle healthy & making a workout of some kind part of your regular routine (and it must be something you look forward to!). If you can't turn your workout (or hobby that involves some kind of athletics) into something you look forward to, chances are you might just not make it.

Perhaps being in shape is completely mental in that way. If you look forward to your workouts, its easy. If you don't, it will always remain a never-ending battle.

            Adjust & Adapt
In my case, my injuries turned it into a battle. I had to adapt & adjust. Getting in shape now is exponentially harder than it ever was before, due to the injuries I've had. But now I've adjusted. My wife stands on my back every morning (which pops it), I ice it a few times a day, and I'm working out...(& I look forward to it!) so I guess I found my 'groove' for now.

engaging in everyday exercise I guess can make you thin and watching the food you eat. Simply as that

Paul McKenna is an NLP practitioner. Some people think that stuff is crap but I've heard he is very good at helping people lose weight while establishing a healthy lifestyle on a go forward basis.

I don't personally know much about him. However, I'm a big believer is getting a coach/trainer to help. If you can't do it on your own, which it sounds like you've tried, someone to encourage you and help you hold yourself accountable is a good idea.

Yea, this system has worked the best for me in the past. I just have to make myself comit now. After I am doing it for a couple of days I am fine. This time I need to just get back on track if i fall off the waggon again.

I do listen to the NLP cd which is great, but you can just follow the 4 rules and do it fine.
Anyway i will report back in a couple of weeks to see how I am doing on it

Cusp is right. Check in regularly here and we'll try and support you. I'm currently trying to lose weight. Blink is right on about enjoying the exercise and that some may be embarrassed doing certain exercises in public.
I'm one of those so for me I'm starting lightly just walking, I've always enjoyed it and when I did a lot of it was when I was in my best shape. Diet is important obviously and there's been some great recommendations here in the thread. Good luck!

Sometimes in a supermarket, I ask myself - would this food have been possible to eat 1000 years ago?

If the answer is no - I will not allow myself to buy it.

Example - pure white bread (not really) - rustic whole ground bread (yes)

Refined sugar (no) - fruit (yes, but not abundantly) - honey (yes, infrequently)

Packaged processed meals (no) - chicken (yes)....& so on

Hey, that's a really smart way to eat actually.... I think that processed food is mostly toxic for us (that's a great way of looking at things).
