  • Anyone tried quitting smoking weed?

I have quit for over 6 months now, anyone tried longer? I am tempted to go back. Is quiting even worth it?

Mj, I have never tried it. I never saw the point. But I work with some people who have smoked it recreationally for years and they have gone nowhere in their professional or personal lives.
I hope you can make the quit stick.
    Good luck.

I'm lucky with weed . For me it's like some smokers that are never really that fussed on whether they actually smoke or not , cigarettes I mean.
I've never been that fussed with weed and can easily go without it. Unfortunately I can't say the same with all my vices .

I use to grow it a lot , bit of a hobby . So I always had plenty around but I've had a bit in a container hanging about at home for a couple of yrs now and haven't had one out of that in 2 yrs , it's probably stuffed by now . Wifey and I often use to make some up with some munchies and a dvd . She totally changes with too much of the stuff and you do notice once you've been off it for awhile your senses quadrupling, no wonder they call it dope .

          Cheers

With me being a exsmoker I could tell u that it's never a good idea to go back to weed... With me not smoking weed it has Gaven me time to do more productive activities than sitting down enjoying the feelin for a hour or so.. And it's true wat pirate said, they usually don't go nowhere In a sense of havin accomplishments or goals. And mumbojumbo it seems like u want a excuse to smoke, I'm just saying...

I 100% believe that you can quit smoking marijuana, but not unless you really WANT to quit. I smoked real heavy amounts of pot for years and one day decided I wasn't into it anymore, and just like that...I was done. I think that the key to enjoying pot is moderation, similar to social drinking. Too much of anything is never good, but to live your life without occasionally indulging in things that make you happy isn't really living.

You gave it up and quite successfully for 6 months. You had your reasons and you should be proud of doing something that many people couldn't do.Why go back to it? Has something changed that you feel the need to get high? Go look at some beautiful fall folliage and realize what you have accomplished.Be content in the notion that you did something that many people cannot!

It's all a mental thing. I started smoking @ 12yrs old and smoked copious amounts of weed on & off until my 25th Bday. That very night while folks were passing all kinds of party goods round the table, I had that epiphany that made me say to myself "Alright...it's been a fun ride with many ups and downs and I have no regrets. It's over and that's it." I literally passed the goods along without having any of it, and I've never looked back ever since. I quit both drugs and alcohol that night, just like that. It's all in your mind.
