  • Gymnastics at Home!

This video is a great example of a very alternative workout style... something completely different from the norm. Check this guy out... he's got some pretty good strength for his bodyweight. This guy built his own rings, and his own mini-parallel bars (from PVC pipe) as well as some other apparatus (all of which are in his house).

This guy mentions he's in the circus now (that's random).

Most of this stuff requires way too much strength to just go mainstream; then again, a lot of guys could do watered down versions of these exercises and slowly work up to them.

I suppose the biggest danger here, is this kind of stuff can be quite hard on the joints... (especially if a previous injury exists in the elbows, shoulders, etc).

Apparently this guy did a gymnastics workout program from a book or something... I have never heard of it before:

moefro777: "These are all clips taken during the week or so after my first real steady state cycle on the gymnastic bodies program. Any and all criticism is welcome."

As much as I hate to admit it, I think you have to start young, or relatively young, at gymnastics.

And unless you are really up to it, and prepare meticulously, and train correctly, you will destroy your joints. Shoulders in particular.

My Mother was a state level Gymnast, so my siblings and I were all taken to Gymnastics when young, but it didn't last long. The level of commitment required has to match your natural ability, you just can't wing it on enthusiasm alone. It's one of my regrets in life that I didn't stick at it as a youngster, though my AC joints are wrecked from years of heavy presses and weighted dips, so I couldn't get back into it even if I wanted to

Kudos to this fellow though, he is very strong and has a good level of skill especially seeing as he seems to have trained only by himself at home. And on homemade equipment.

I agree that a lot of what he is doing looks like it could be incredibly hard on his shoulders.
