  • PE with Prostatitis

    Hello Everyone!

I have decided to open a new thread on PE + Prostatitis. I've had non-bacterial prostatitis for almost 4 years now. I've had all the possible treatments that are available without success. I've just started taking ProstaQ 3 days ago, so I cannot comment on it yet. Basically, I have two intentions with this thread:

    • If anyone has had prostatitis (especially non-bacterial one) please share your knowledge on it. If you were cured, what worked for you, what did you try, how did you manage to live with it etc.
    • Would it be wise to start PEing with prostatitis? Is there anyone among you who has currently or had prostatitis and did PE? Did it make any worse?

Please feel free to share anything related to prostatitis itself and or anything to prostatitis + PE. I've read recently that about 50% of men have had prostatitis during their life, and that non-bacterial prostatitis is most popular among young men in their 20s nowadays. It can seriously effect your life, believe me. Having a healthy prostate is a vital part of men's health, therefore it should be discussed.

I will keep you updated on my case with prostatitis if it interests you.

I had non-bacterial prostatitis in my 30's. The episode lasted for more than a year. It started right after my internist put me on a high blood pressure med for the first time. He insisted that there was no causal relationship. I ended up at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York about a year later, and an elderly urologist at CPH enlightened me. He said, "Listen to your body! If you think there was a relationship between the two, then there was!" Not too long after that, the prostatitis subsided.

But he told me something that another urologist (later in life) as well as my internist told me. "Get off regularly!! It's the best thing to prevent prostatitis and prostate cancer." Looking back, I remember my wife was out of state for a lengthy time. Do you suppose this was also a factor? Not enough "nooky," I mean. I think it was.

    Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for your comments going411b7! Unfortunately I cannot think of anything out of ordinary that I did when my prostatitis began. It is a really mysterious condition to have, because ofter you and even the doctors just can't figure out what could be the possible cause behind it. I even tried visiting a shrink once, though I am absolutely sure that it is not in my head. Anyway, this is the 4th day of taking ProstaQ, but it needs about a month to show some results, they say. I will continue taking it, and planning to visit an elderly urologist (like you did), in July, who told me that he could try some sort of "complex therapy" on me that might help. One part of it is prostate drainage thru massage.

What about starting PE? What do you think, should I give it a try? Is there any reason to believe that it would make my symptoms worse?
I believe PE could have an effect on the blood flow, which can even be beneficial for the prostate. But it is advised not to be sexually excited too often with prostatitis, and I think it comes with PE.

So all in all, should I start PEing with my prostatitis or not?
