I read the articleon the main page, about throat cancer which you can get by doing cunnilingus. It scared me out. When I will have a girlfriend, I wont to do a lot of cunnilingus to her and I would like her to do oral sex to me too. But based on this article, it seems like its very dangerous. What is the solution in your opinion? Just quit oral sex forever?

It is just a scare. Guys who smoke and drink increase risk noticinly . A recent theory is that oral may increase risk slightly ,so guys who have smoked heavily all their lives, want ro put illness down to oral sex .

But I could be wrong, so let me put it to the test ... I promise to eat-out my wife every chance I get. This is correct. But it should be pointed out that HPV consist of more than 100 variants (viruses where some may cause genital warts). It is the most common STD, where it is estimated that 70% of the adult population has it. And children are also born with it. So it is very common. However in most people it doesn't cause any symptoms at all, as in warts. And sometimes the warts can come after months or years and then vanish again. Even though many people are infected by it without knowing it, there is anyway only a small number of women that develop cervical cancer because of this. Also only some variants of the virus are expected to trigger cancer.

There are vaccination programs available, and in Scandinavia it is offered to all young teen women, but unlike what the national health service expected, most adoloscent women turn down the vaccine.

If you have a fear for the virus, as a male you can pay for the vaccine and have it.

Since you only need to be infected one time and it remains in your body, it makes no sense going down on your girlfriend 'not a lot'. I understand from these words that you will anyway do it occassionally. Since HPV is very contageous, you will get it if she has it (if the virus is in an active phase). So either one has to practice complete absence or just be completely relaxed about it.

And to the article with Michael Douglas: I agree to what was written above that it is a scare. Douglas himself denies that smoking a lot had to do anything with the cancer. Either he is just in denial or just ignorant.

I am not going to underestimate the HPVs ability to cause cancers, but it is agreed that a lot of diseases are due to exactly lifestyle (which Douglas apparently denies according to the article.) When it comes to lifestyle and diseases I often use the image of a monsters in the dark cellar; each step down the staircase represent an unhealthy part of a lifestyle, and once you have walked down all the stairs, it's a fair possibility that one of these monsters becomes aware of you and catches you. Each monster representing different diseases that you may be presdisposed for, and to which different parts of an unhealthy lifestyle may bring out.

It can if you do it right. If making a girl squeel and squirm with delight does not give you pleasure I dont know what to tell ya. Have you ever given some one a gift for no reason and felt great about it. It is like that in a " I am the man" sort of way.
