hot water can be damaging to your hair so cold is better in that respect and warm water can help losen up muscles i sometimes have a bath and do hamstrings and quad streches after a run. Cold water and ice baths help increase the repair rate of muscles apparently their is some science behind it but i have a bad case of cba with linking you up haha.

Hot showers/baths can loosen joints and muscles, but it does promote inflammation and an autoimmune response (immune system attacking the skin at the hot spots). That's the itch after a hot hot shower. Inflammation is bad for us and causes major health issues. Cold showers and baths will have the tendency to stiffen you up. But afterward your blood will heat you back up, but without inflammation added to what you may already be experiencing. Cold for me, but some times I will heat it up to get my core temp up from a day of working in the rain or cold. But will turn it down once I'm warm.
But then again I could probably join a Polar Bear Club.:peace::hippie::rockon::music:

What exactly is inflammation and how do warm showers cause it?

Inflammation is swelling and a response from the body due to it believing its under attack. So the immune system goes to look for the invader, lots of times its our own body it attacks. The heat causes histemines to release and call for the immune system to respond.:peace::hippie::rockon::music:
