Do you have a Sam's Club or GNC store where you are?? They usually have. Maybe you have to mail order.Originally posted by TheSperminator View PostI've been looking for coconut oil in our supermarket but I couldn't find any .. I'm from Belgium. Here are no American shops .. I only searched in one supermarket so I haven't looked that bad.. But coconut oil sounds delicious compared to olive oil. Still having goosebumps from drinking itOriginally posted by Dick Whammy View PostDo you have a Sam's Club or GNC store where you are?? They usually have. Maybe you have to mail order.

Too much of a good thing!
One or two tablespoons a day would be fine and healthy.

Table spoon is not much. I use 24g of flax seed oil daily, divided between meals. It has a strong flavor but its considerably cheep and has great Omega's. Pumpkin seed oil is also good. It has nut flavor.Start(11.24.11) BPEL 6 7/8 EG 4 7/8

In the middle-east, olive oil is an inextricable part of our cuisine. We use it in a all sorts of foods. I believe we are the biggest manufacturers and consumers of olive oil. Here are a few dishes off the top of my head, you can check for their recipes online:
Labna, Hummus, Magdus, Mutabal, Middle-eastern salads, Za'tar Manakeesh, Za'tar W Zeit, Tabbouleh,... Hell I even fry my egs in olive oil. Here's something even more crazy: we even soak olives in olive oil and eat them, I just LOVE olive oil.

1. Big bowl of fresh baby spinach.
2. Add any other fresh chopped veggies you like (no such thing as too many).
3. Add other nutritious ingredients as desired, ie; boiled egg, walnuts, apple, cheese (easy does it).
4. Sprinkle with "Good Seasons" dry Italian dressing powder (appx. 1tsp).
5. Drizzle 1/4 cup of good quality balsalmic vineagar.
6. Douse with as much quality EVO you can afford.
7. Lightly mix and dive in - nothing better!

I'm going to attempt to mind-read Toad here. Olive oil is absolutely healthy, but, like anything, it should ingested in moderation. A healthy, balanced diet would be much better (and cheaper) than trying to get 1000 extra calories of olive oil every day.Originally posted by TheSperminator View PostToad, what are your thoughts on one tablespoon daily? Absolutely.Originally posted by BTBrian View PostI'm going to attempt to mind-read Toad here. Olive oil is absolutely healthy, but, like anything, it should ingested in moderation. And remember that a healthy, balanced diet includes a variety of oils. Coconut, flaxseed, peanut, hemp, olive - they're all good choices. I recommend you not getting too rigid in your diet where you force yourself to eat one thing to excess, or only one thing ever. Allergies and illness can occur as a result.
Also, Sperminator, remember that just because someone looks a certain way, doesn't necessarily mean that it's because of something he's doing. Do you know know what statistical variation is? Some people are genetically predisposed to looking a certain way, or having a certain skill or talent. Unless he's on drugs (which is also a good possibility) he could have just been blessed by the grace of God to look that way."Know the rules well, so that you may properly break them" - The Dalai Lama

That is how I do it.
Just a note, you can buy a moderately expensive bottle of balsamic and reduce it to equal an expensive bottle. All you have to do is to pour all the balsamic into a pot and reduce it over low heat. It is best to do this outside, unless you want your whole house to smell like vinegar.

If you're looking for a tasty way to eat coconut oil I recommend:
1 cup organic germinated almonds, grind in a food processor, (use a coffee bean grinder for grinding of [flax] seeds. No coffee beans ever go in this grinder. Just seeds)
1 cup organic raw pumpkin seeds, grind-
1 cup organic flax seeds, grind-
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup yeast flakes
1 cup mung beans
2 tbs dried egg white
1 and a half cups organic raw sunflower seeds, grind-
1 and a half cups 'craisins' - Process in a food processor.
mix all the seeds with the almonds then add the 'craisins.'
Melt 4 cups [32 oz] Coconut Oil into the mix. Processe it in the food processor or stir. The
coconut fat mixture will firm up as it cools.
Cool and roll into balls or a log and cut.
Mix 1 TBLS of Stevia into 3 cups of unsweetened unsulfured dried shredded coconut
Roll the logs or balls in the coconut.
Keep cooled
I didn't bother with the dried eggs, yeast flakes, pumpkin seeds, or beans. I didn't do the stevia either.
