I've been a runner for the past 10 years. My family always comments on how thin I am - usually when they haven't seen me in a while. I always have to ask them if they are saying that I look gaunt, and they always assure me that no, I look healthy.

But I stopped running at the end of the summer and decided to take a break. What I've noticed is that I haven't gained any weight, but I continue to eat about the same amount. This has me rethinking my diet. I was probably under-eating when I was running, and I'm kind of embarrassed by that because it means I wasn't taking very good care of myself. I probably quit at just the right time.

Where did you come up with this shit? I hate to sound negative but talk about some horrible information.

1 Your metabolism does not go up due to eating more frequently nor does eating frequently cause it to stay high. This is an old myth that has been shown as untrue study after study. In fact most people can not eat anything for 2-3 days before their metabolism starts to slow down.

2 You cannot train your body to not store fat. WTF? Please tell me when you got this fantasy? Do you seriously think you can train your body to stop doing something it evolved to do over a course of hundreds of thousands of years? Please.

3 Your muscles are not going to fall off if you don't eat every 3 hours. Another old bodybuilding myth disproven through various studies.

4 This is true however your body already has a large supply of energy. It's called fat.

5 This is true. Certainly it is easier to eat 5000 calories over 5-6 meals than it is over 3.

          6. Congratulations. I have a good friend from college who at pizza and doritos as his main staple and he had a six pack and barely worked at all. (To top it off he has a gigantic dick. Looks like my fucking forearm.) Anyways here is a guy who eats three meals a day and is shredded. www.leangains.com

Of course you think in terms of I burnt so many extra calories etc, as most have been taught to.
It isn't that simple, the body will often defend an established weight.
