  • Workout body Updates for inspiration and progress reports

So as some of you know i have two threads that i have posted about my calisthenics exercises and how im progressing and challenged other to progress with me.

    https://www.pegym.com/forums/exercis...tml?highlight=

So i thought id start a thread about before and after photos and where we are at in terms of our body. Again this is not to intimidate others or compare ourselves to other people. It to help inspire and get motivated and stay that way. One of the best motivators is a clear record of your progress. Changes get and keep you going trust me ive been working out my whole life with a few breaks here and there lol. But i will start with a current picture of me (cropped out face) but if you are more gangsta go ahead and leave your face in.

Keep up and update on both these thread and we will progress together.

    Me a few minutes ago.

I've been doing a few of those calisthenic exercises sprinkled throughout the day and on the weekends. I don't want to modify my WOs just yet, since I'm just beginning a new routine. My current goal is flexibility, balance, stamina, and body-weight strength. Currently my WO is:

I get my routines/sets from these places:
Yoga - Start with basic sun salutation and add exercises as I progress
Splits Routine - More flexibility, trying to open up my hips and regain my flexibility from my Taekwondo days
(Actually think I may have found that link here. Can't remember who to give credit to though)
    50 Pullups
    100 Pushups
    200 Situps

    Abs Routine I (30sec each/10 sec rest)
    - Reverse Crunches (Straight-Leg) : similar to the regular except legs stay straight and the movement ends in a shoulder stand.
    - Bench jumps
    - Reverse Crunches
    - Plank
    - Mountain Climbers or High Knees
Abs Routine II (30 sec each, 10 sec rest)
    - Mountain Climbers
    - Reverse Crunches (straight-leg)
    - Back Scratchers
    - High Knees
    - Bicycles

    Monday
    Morning: Yoga (15-30min), Run (20-30min)
    Evening: Pushups/Situps (15-20min), Run (20-30min)

    Tuesday
Morning: Light Stretch (15min), HIIT (15min) - 15-20 sec sprint, 30 sec rest
Evening: Splits Routine (20min), Pullups/Dips, Abs Routine I

    Wednesday
    Morning: Yoga (15-30min), Run (20-30min)
    Evening: Pushups/Situps (15-20min), Run (20-30min)

    Thursday
Morning: Light Stretch (15min), HIIT (15min) - 15-20 sec sprint, 30 sec rest
Evening: Splits Routine (20min), Pullups/Dips, Abs Routine I

    Friday
    Morning: Yoga (15-30min), Run (20-30min)
    Evening: Pushups/Situps (15-20min), Run (20-30min)

    Saturday/Sunday
    - Catch up on any workouts missed during the week (Goes for PE too).- Calisthenics exercises suggested by lclutchl

    Let's see how it goes...

No one wants to participate in getting fit through calisthenics besides Mrpriapus? You won't be sorry. Come on guys take the time. It's a cheaper alternative to the gym and is way better for functional strength and definition. Not saying the the gym is ineffective by any means.

My routine is above. Obviously I've progressed since then, but that's the baseline.

Here i am now guys. I have gained much more strength and flexibility. Calisthenics has been improving i just completed my first muscle up with proper form. Both arms at the same time. I am working on front lever still but am closer than ever. My planche push up is just waiting on my shoulders to strengthen up a bit.
