Just wanted to throw it in there with all the debate over calisthenics and free weights. The both have their places in trying achieve fitness. I have been lifting for the past 5 years consistently. But just recently I have added push ups pull ups to my to mu usual workouts. It has made a pretty remarkable difference. I am stronger.. I have more endurance.. I have dropped a bit of body fat.. and it has even improved my cardiovascular health. Just like everything else in life.. try not to be limited or closed minded.

As far as the daily challenge goes.. I think that this a great idea lclutchl. Especially for those who need added motivation or something different.
    Starting (january 05, 2011):
    BPEL: ~5.5?" X 4.25"?
    Current:
    BPEL: 6.5"X 4.5"

Funny thing is that i did a complete lower body CALISTHENIC workout yesterday and my legs are burnt lmao. We did 10 pistol squats each leg, 20 legs leg raises on a bench and squat jumps down a 45 agility ladder 3 sets. Its not that your butting heads with everyone purple it just that your dead wrong especially when you try to explain why with out having done whats needed yet.

One major difference between calisthenics and gym is core development the gym takes your core out of many exercises.

Dude, tyrosine! It will help you out a little bit. 2-4g a day. It works better with caffeine a couple times a day. Of course it's not going to be as strong as ECA.

Also bump up saturated fats a bit if you're that tired. When you're doing low carb the last thing you want to do is go too low with the saturated fats because they help with all your hormones and fats in general help you feel full. You could even go old school Vince Gironda Maximum Definition diet of any meat, eggs, and water (and a salad), if you wanted to... It's going to be really hard though.

Make sure you drink about 1 1/2 gallons of water a day.... More than you need, which you can scale back on, but this should help you out any fatigue caused by low carb dehydration. A lot of times on this diet you're going to feel drained and have sore muscles and hydrating can help out with that.

Just make sure you don't go too low with this. The old school rules were to have a high carb meal every 3-5 days, newer rules are more along the lines of a a slight carb up after a workout... There are several different methods. Personally I highly recommend carb backloading. You get to eat all the carbs you could want, just after your workout, but the catch is you have to keep your entire day all the way through your workout extremely low carb.

Ok guys back to the point of this thread. Excercising. The challenge today is going to be 2 sets of alphabet abs. What you wanna do is lay on your back feet together and trace out each letter in uppercase of the alphabet without stopping. Rest then repeat. Also continue to try the other daily challenges until you can complete them. Im thinking legs for tommorow.

Check out the other threads i have started and join in with those they have died quite quick but its something that i enjoy and love motivating others to do.
Watch the video in Calisthenics progressions and try some of that stuff as well.
Dont be limited to my daily challenges

On the Body update threads you will see how my body looks and that im not just some guy who is backing something without seeing progress because i watched it on youtube.

Today's challenge is leg + Cardio. One of my favorites. The classic M100's

                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkD9LwDBWW0

Have better form then him though especially on the squat thrust get your back flat not bent and rounded like his

I think im not gonna post challenges on the weekends. But use that time to either rest or work on previous challenges you have tried but could not complete. Also dont forget to update us on your status.

                    Oh thank you lclutchl!

I just tried these and could only do 60 reps before I nearly died (and my form was pretty average). The guy in the video seems to do 20 reps on that mountain climb exercise? I only did 10 per set.

I did a few pull-ups this morning (2 or 3 here and there) and managed a total of 21.

PS I'll post a pic of my physique on 01/04 and we'll see what transformation I can make by 01/05.

I have to admit lclutchl, since you mentioned calitshenics, I've started training with body weight. It's great. although, I haven't done any of these challenges yet, cause I'm in a program. Thanks for introducing me, mate!

Have a great day. Archer pull ups are GOOD, btw.

                            See ya'll!
