  • Commitment on Loosing Weight

I just made a commitment to myself that I will loose 70 pounds, I'm so sick of my eating habits, I really need to loose weight, have been saying it for years, just never was really serious about it until now. However, it seems like everytime I do try to loose weight I loose a couple of pounds then I quit, this time that's not gonna happen. I'm gonna say NO to starch and to snacks.. for my cravings I'll be eating healthier foods instead. Also I'll be on a exercise program,However the problem is everytime I exercise I get sores that lasts for days and it's hard for me to maneuver during the day, but, I'm sure there's ways to help prevent soreness. Also, I've been out from the forums for a while, had a pretty busy week at work, but I'm still here and always will be here till the end and I'll be on a commitment to continue with my P.E program as well.

Loose weight? Okay try this. Instead of giving up what you like try exercising. Start slow so you don't get sore but build up more week by week. If you just eat normally ( no you don't have to give things up) and increase your exercise you will lose about a pound a week which is the right way to do it. You see when you give things up yes you do lose weight but also change your body metabolism. Then when you get to the weight you want and start to eat regular again because your body is so used to eating less food ( lower metabolism) if you eat bird seed you'll gain the weight right back.

I lost 30 pounds and gave up nothing. I just exercised for 30 minutes 6 days a week and as I got in better shape I was able to do more in those same 30 minutes ( burning more calories) than I did when I started. If you want a further explanation, if this method interests you, pm me.

Its referred to as DOMS. Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness and it's totally normal.

The best way I have experienced relief is to do some light cardio afterwards. Especially when doing legs.

15 - 20 minute warm down. Also ICE is your New Best Friend!

Later the soreness gives you a feeling like after great sex. Just a little sore and fond memories of how you did it!

Take a hot shower, then put a pack of ice on the area of soreness.

Another thing that I found has helped me is a lacrosse ball. This is going to sound weird and uncomfortable - and it is - but i've learned to love it.

Get a hard ball. Something that will be able to support your weight. A lacrosse ball fits the bill. They're 2 or 5 bucks at a local sports store. Lay on the ground and put the ball where the area of soreness is. Then roll around on the ball. The slower and deeper you can dig into your muscle, the better the effect. It's more uncomfortable than it sounds but there is amazing relief afterwards.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the more often you change exercises, the more likely you will encounter DOMS.

Good luck on your goals mate! There are lots of guys and girls on here that have an abundance of knowledge on nutrition and exercise. Have a look at this thread I started recently, maybe post your details on it to help motivate yourself and to give yourself a routine and diet to achieve it with.

When I first started losing weight, I made the mistake (well it was a mistake for me) of trying to eat healthy immediately. The easiest thing in the beginning is to just cut portion size. I always ended up breaking down and binge eating a bunch of junk because I was shocking my body so badly. Once you get the portions under control, try to replace one meal with something healthy, then two, then three, etc. You'll really have to work yourself up to it. Good luck man!

If you're into taking supps. I recommend Alphamine by PES. Pretty potent stuff. Thermogenic and appetite-suppressor.
