  • De-sensitised penis?

I'm 25 years old, about half a year ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, cause currently unknown. A few months after being diagnosed I suddenly lost a good 80% of the feeling in my penis. Does anyone know much about this and if thyroid issues could cause this problem? I did wonder if masturbation was the cause but it's doubtful because I only do that max once a day, or sometimes even 3-4 days between each time.

There's another thing, I have my foreskin and I used to be really sensative on the glans, so much that I didn't like the thought of anything even touching them, except the inside of a woman of course, because that's the one thing that didn't cause discomfort. Roughly around the time of myself becoming desensitised, I was experimenting with retracting my own foreskin and trying to get more comfortable with it, previously, the only way for me to retract it was when it happend naturally while entering a woman. I did learn to retract it myself without being twitchy about it and honestly it wasn't that hard to do once I set my mind to it, at no point did I ever hurt myself while learning to do this, I was very careful and learned to do it gradually over time, so I don't see how this could be the cause.

So that's 3 of the possibilities of what caused me to become to desensitised. For me it's quite bad, because I can put my dick under a hot shower (not scalding hot) and only lightly feel it, extremely lightly. Put any other part of my body under it and I can feel it easily. This means my penis is currently one of the least sensitive areas of my body.

So far this hasn't been much of a problem for me sexually, well, for my partner at least. I can get the job done almost as well as before, except for me it sucks, because I can hardly feel anything, even mid orgasm. For me to achieve much sexually I need to focus on mental stimulation because physically I can hardly feel anything. The slightest thing to put off my concentration can sometimes lead to a loss of erection, unless of course sex was already well underway and then instead I just become a bit less hard.

What can I do? I don't know what caused this problem or how to fix it.

hmm, this sounds scary, but you are lucky (as far as I'm concerned) to be intact.

BUT, this should mean that you should be even MORE sensitive.

I would consider going to see a dotor, but also look into taking something NATURAL to think the blood and get better circulation.
Wine, aspirin, etc. NOT PHARMACEUTICALS, they can be dangerous. Something called "cumidin" I think help kill my grandfather way early.

THE MAIN THING is that you should begin to PE NOW as it will improve your penile health in general, and its free.

Also, do you get regular exercise. You should.

Hypothyroidism can definitely impact your penis. I am not sure about desensitization per, but definitely ED issues which might be related. Anyway, take a look at this thread -- https://www.pegym.com/forums/erectil...ury-e-d-2.html. Despite the title of the thread, it ended up being about hypothyroidism.
Are you taking any thyroid meds? You might want to look into that.

Only lexothyroxine, 75mg a day, which I believe is quite a small dose. The doctor says none of the side effects include the problem I have. My doctor doesn't seem to care really, his first two questions when I told him were. Can you still get an erection? Can you still ejeculate? I answered yes to both and he immediately lost interest.

About it being my thyroid causing this, that's the thing, i'm not sure it is. I asked the doctor and told him my problem. I said I still want to have sex and still can. My doctors response is if my thyroid caused it, the symptoms would be different. I don't always trust what doctors say though, they often get things wrong.

I've got the results back on what caused my thyroid to go underactive - It's not an autoimmune disease, as there are no thyroid antobodies present in my blood. That means something else caused it, but what?
