  • Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)

I've owned and experimented with a couple of TENS units, the goal being pain relief. Some muscular, some from nerve damage, some from an accident causing a missing limb.
Where to place the electrode things, and how to adjust the settings on the TENS units was always the mystery. What to expect was never defined or understood with any "precision".

So there was experimentation. I did find a measure of distraction from the pain. It was a learning experience. However, both units were eventually stored away.

    Have any experiences to share?
Post away, maybe we can grow the knowledge of the forum.

no, back then, erections were not a problem, and diabetic nerve damage was less progressed.

I used one of these for my bodybuilding. It was neat but I eventually put it on the shelf. I was hoping it would help continue fatiguing the muscles after a hard workout, I don't think it did that very well. But it can be real good for getting a mind-muscle connection with isolating certain muscles. You can use it for example on your lagging muscle until the feeling leaves a little throbbing in the muscle, then do your workout and you'll be able to better focus on the muscle to contract it during the lift since it'll already be a little worked. I used this for my distal vastus lateralis before doing my squats as they tend to lag behind my vastus medialis muscles and I have a harder time contracting them. But you could use it on any muscle that you can put the pads over.
Just an average guy, with a not so average package.
