    hey guys so I have been using a vacuum hanger for a few days now and I noticed that it causes some localized swelling/edema after usage. I am wondering it perhaps the use of a penis pump would help to condition the skin to prevent this from happening while in the vacuum?

    I was also thinking that perhaps using a penis pump would help condition the skin to avoid blisters from the vacuum hanger as well.

    What do you all think?


    Also, is the silicone glans cap really much better than just using some 3m micropore tape?

    A penis pump could add the the problem. Penis pumps can produce temporary gains which are normally due to edema and swelling. The best way to condition the skin and prevent blisters with a vacuum hanger is to start off light and slowly work your way up in weight.

    What hanger are you using and where exactly is the swelling?

      When I used just the glans cap I would get bruising often, had some thick callouses/shedding skin that wasn't very pretty to look at, and I would get fluid blisters occasionally enough that it made hanging over ten pounds very frightening, if not impossible.

      But now I use 3m tape first and then put a silicone cap over that and I've stopped all injuries and bruising completely, even hanging heavier weights for longer sets.

      Granted, the tape is more important because it bonds directly to the skin whereas the cap can slip and easily form air pockets. But combined I think the cap reduces and distributes enough pressure so the tape directly on your skin has to do less work, making it all more comfortable and safe.

      Or maybe I'm just too scared to try hanging without a cap completely lol. Hard to say I guess.
