A Doctor with Hard Flaccid - Updates and Advice

I guess if you think you broke your dick you might as well have mental issues to go along with it.

Are you serious? ... Except for the current Hard Flaccid problem, I have everything in my life. Everything. I am the happiest person I know. I took the academic school I always wanted. I love my job. I have the most wonderful girlfriend, which I love very much, and our intercourse looks like a pornographic movie. I have fabulous parents and family, who support me in everything, I have an extraordinary social life, full of spectacular friends. I sleep a lot, I eat extraordinarily well, I train a lot. I have the body that any man wants. I do not argue or raise my voice with anyone in my day. All day. Totally zero stress. In addition, I had deformation of the penile structure, sudden erectile dysfunction and sudden premature ejaculation, which I never had in my entire life. This argument is just completely ridiculous. And it is an offense to so many members who have Hard Flaccid without psychiatric pathology. So, let's just agree to disagree on this point...

Some if not all of these guys that are broken are desperate and will do anything to be "normal" again. HF is a perfect example. He's a good guy but if anyone he thought in the 'know" told him to rub bat shit on his dick and he'll be better well he'd be looking for bats. I can't say I blame him.
Beside HF you have many of the unknown; people who are not members but simply read so it could be hundreds or thousands of the unknowns that may now think ssri's may help them.
Now you did mentioned self medicating. Do you think these broken guys even care let alone read it? No they're desperate. They will do anything to heal.
Before the internet you actually had to go to a pharmacy to get medicine. Well not anymore. Look around a bit and you'll find anything you want. Do you think these broken guys will read any kind of drug interactions or who should be or not be taking this medication? They don't care; they want their dick to work the way it used to.

First, I think that anyone on the Internet can see that I was recommending HFrecovering a class of drugs purely to beat his STRESS. And it's not just any drug. It is the FIRST-LINE drug class for Generalized Anxiety Disorder. It's the GOLD STANDARD, along with psychotherapy (which HFrecovering has already told me that didn't work). It is something that any wise psychiatrist will give him, for STRESS.

Second, if a person is fully aware that they are neither stressed nor anxious, obviously SSRIs will do NOTHING to cure their Hard Flaccid. I don't think it takes someone to go to medical school to understand that... If I have Diabetes, I will not take a drug to treat Asthma, right? I think that being an adult is enough to understand this.

Diabetic, heart issues, glaucoma ; to some of them it means nothing but add a ssri to the mix and someone is going to have an issue. Sadly they do not care because some doctor told them it may help.
Now if you're a practicing physician do you really want a patient coming in your door and demand he be given ssri's to help fix his broken dick? He's already convinced that ssri's are his only hope and if you don't give them to him he'll just leave looking for another doctor.

It happens to me every day. Every day. And you know what? I think it is a good thing. People learn much of their diseases on the Internet is a good thing. First, it leaves them much more informed about their disease. If my appointment lasts 30min-60min, obviously I can't explain everything about everything to them. Second, when I tell them that some of the things they’ve read don’t make sense and explain to them why it doesn’t make sense and tell them and explain to them what really makes sense, it makes ALL my patients much more informed, clarified and well treated. All. Without exception. I never had an argument with a patient in that context.

If you read a lot of posts you will find that many of these broken guys have been to multiple doctors, often walking into the office already knowing what they need to fix them and just wanting a script. When they don't get it that furthers depresses a guy who's already depressed.
Did you have good intentions? I'm sure you did. Did it help? Sadly I think not; it may have done more harm than good.Yes I know unintentional but the job you've taken basis is 'do no harm".
The exercises, the splits, and even just talking to some of these guys at times gives great help. When we mention a drug on here we are not just mentioning it; it's being recommended. That's what they think.

I did more harm… Daamn... First time in my life... I recommended the GOLD STANDARD class of drugs, 1st line, for Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Which is most likely what HFrecovering has (and I told him to go to a psychiatrist to confirm). First, it is an extremely benign class of drug when in low dose and it is exactly the drug that is advised on ANY, PUBLIC, MEDICAL site for these two conditions. Anyone can find EXACTLY the SAME information on ANY other website. So, I did harm... Where, exactly?...

Like I said; your motives were good but experience will teach you the areas to go and the areas not to go, even if not going breaks your heart not to try and help. The less talk of medicines and the greater emphasis on the natural things we try here is better. Sadly for many we won't help and medicine, even though all doctors are stupid and urologist are always wrong and none of this is psychological is the only hope for them.

I read some posts and only now do I realize that it is forbidden for anyone to advise any type of drugs on this website. I didn't know at all. I apologize for doing so. It will not happen again. Thanks CUSP82 for complimenting my motives and intentions.

Doc I don’t want to jump in and ruin your thread but I thought I would add A comment or two on the problems that HF is going through.
I think I may understand the constant anxiety because I had the same problems.
My ordeal started in the late 90’s , I was a construction worker, block mason also, I was 5’9 and weighed 195 lb no fat. I was almost freaky with muscle , and Probably how I got my wife 10 years younger then me .. I had it all, good paying job , beautiful wife , Got my pilots license and was living!
It started with being anxious and not sleeping, then hardly sleeping at all and feeling like electricity going through me. It built to a near breakdown, I saw different doctors that would try different drugs and then send me to another doctor.
Another reason I had to respond is when reading this thread and saw the fight or flight thing. I once said if I hear someone recite the flight or flight thing again !
I saw a brain surgeon because of a head injury I had at 15 to see if it was causing the problems.
After all kinds of test and MRI’s the surgeon told me that it wasn’t the problem but had seen a few like me and I would have to learn to deal with it . It’s a nerve problem that nothing physical can help, and mental help doesn’t do much either. I also get hic-ups for days, well not really more like uncontrollable convulsions of the diaphragm and chest muscles, have been to the emergency room over it .
But between the surgeon and the doctor of psychiatric medication I at least got stable. But sitting still at rest I would still vibrate inside. I went down to 126 lb , lost my job , lost my wife and still had to deal with the constant anxiety. And over the years I have just learned to deal with it.
Im doing ok now after years but will still have attacks sometimes, and i still vibrate inside a little but I get by , even started PE again last Nov.
Just wanted to say there are exceptions to the medical books.

Please explain something to me again. I don't think I understood it. Do you have Hard Flaccid due to a nerve that is compressed in your body? Do you have Hard Flaccid due to specific compression of a specific nerve in the Sympathetic Nervous System, which causes the Sympathetic Nervous System to be constantly active?

Dear doctor Romero? Pleased to meet you- I have a halfway almost there position with my injury. I originally had perforations, holes, lacerations in my tube like tunica albuginea. It's reached the point where some of them are closed. But now what? I'm left with TONS of scar tissue. I can't get an erection. How long does it take for these several fibrous plaques to unharden?

I'm just a doctor who was very interested in finding a cure for Hard Flaccid. And your condition also has other physical characteristics and injuries. I think in that case you will be closer to Peyronie's disease... I am not a great expert on Peyronie's disease. Most likely, other members will know much more than I do about treating fibrotic tissue and scarring. I know that penile traction and some massages has evidence and some injectable medications (*I can't say the names* ) also have it, but I don't know much more. And in your situation, perhaps surgery to remove fibrotic plaques is the best option. Have you ever been observed and studied by a urologist?

You're welcome I think that all physical therapies, which are properly credited, are safe. At the very least, to get people to do a little sport and move the tissues... The problem is whether it really works for your condition. What kind of physical therapy are you doing?

Ohh, ok. You were just pointing out that Hard Flaccid may have other (rare) causes besides those we have discussed here, and elsewhere on the Internet. And some of them can be quite difficult to treat… Yes, yes... It is likely that some Hard Flaccids originated due to more rare causes... Many common diseases have some more rare causes... We here are only trying to make science the best we can, taking into account current knowledge and what we know has helped others. There is still a long way to go...

Out of curiosity, can I ask you what your diagnosis is?... Do you know the name of the nervous disease you have?

Doing pelvic floor therapy. I've been there 6 times not to jynx it I might put it on the back burner for now. I can always ask my doc about it. Ty though for the encouragement. I have the ability to get inside my head a little bit too much (too much thought) so I brought a list of what I'm gonna show my doctor. I still even have faith that the scarring will remove naturally with time as this is my first day with them.

Something that is relevant though is that I've been picked for a study on pre diabetes middle of September. After I see my specialist on the 8th I will get back to them.

At the appointment I will: tell a little about me, my symptoms, some questions and concerns then follow up. Of course with a manual exam. Can you think of anything else I should ask? Thank you dr Romero!

You're welcome Go see a Urologist! You have to be studied by a specialist. Furthermore, I do not recommend that you stop with pelvic floor physical therapy. Keep doing it. It improves penile arterial circulation, which can only have benefits and improve your injuries. And I don't think you need to wait for the day when you see the physical therapist. Do it at home too! Read all threads from PEGym experts, regarding Kegels and Reverse Kegels. And do some light edging, light penile massages, pelvic floor massages and light (!!) manual penile stretching. You only have to benefit from them. BUT! You already know… NO PORN! It ruins everything... Allow your libido to increase with what is natural. Not artificial. And go see a good urologist!

I think the questions are fine. Try to bet as much as possible on the best description of the symptoms. Describes them exhaustively. And yes, bet also and be sincere in describing how you feel mentally. Describe all the physical and psychological symptoms, in the best and most truthful way you can.
