Something else I've failed to see mentioned yet is the use of Diazepman/Valium. Has anyone tried using these drugs in relation to pelvic floor dysfunction? Seems like a powerful muscle relaxant/spasm reducer would be key in helping induce recovery.

Drugs don't tackle the root of the problem.

The root of the problem being what? Tight muscles or the unconscious tightening of those muscles? Surely either way so long as you are still doing your best to consciously relax the pelvic floor then drugs which tackle muscle tightness/spasming could only make recovery easier?

The root of the problem is a bad habit of tightening the pelvic floor. Yoga, breathing, relaxation and stretching help retrain the pelvic floor to relax.
They will help to alleviate the symptoms, not eliminate them. These medications are also addictive and can easily be abused.

Thanks BigBob. Once again I am not trying to discredit or detract from your explanations. On the contrary I think this thread is one of, if not the most, informative and helpful accounts on how to tackle hard flaccid on the internet. I am simply trying to ask questions to help myself and others understand this further. One final question I have on the topic is on the topic of involuntary kegels during sex. I find that having sex tightens things up a lot. Abstaining would definitely be beneficial but i'm wondering how you would suggest I, or someone else, tackles involuntary kegels? You say to do deep belly breathing during sex but for me that does not help. The kegels are impossible to turn off. Would it simply be a matter of abstaining and then retraining the pelvic floor in order to tackle involuntary kegels.

You are free to ask anything you like.
Eliminating IK's during sex is INCREDIBLY challenging for most people including myself. Belly breaths really don't help that much. I think it really depends on how sensitive the penis is to the stimulation. I can't stop the IK's in a flesh light STU to save my life, but I can do much better with my hand. My guess is that it takes some getting used to in order to achieve. That being said, I suggest you keep practicing, I don't think abstaining is the best option due to a lowered equilibrium. It's best to make sure you aren't "clenching". That will cause soreness in your perineum.

                Forgot to mention
According to TANGO 5/10, he struggled as well but used a kegel/rk routine and after 5 months he saw results. A strong pelvic floor contributed to more control. That is why we emphasize the kegel.

Unfortunately for me I have pretty much zero sensitivity most of the time. I do attribute this to a muscle issue because sensitivity does come back a little bit on occasion such as when i'm in a hot bath. At the time i started getting reduced sensitivity (about three months now) I at least thought this would allow me to last longer in bed but no unfortunately God decided to unleash real hell on me by diminishing my penile sensitivity whilst also increasing my premature ejaculation. Of course I attribute both of these things to a tight pelvic floor and so I assume both sensitivity and stamina will increase as I recover. I can however reach orgasm and can actually feel orgasms perfectly fine. In fact, weirdly enough, my orgasms are actually more intense - so at least there's that.

I feel a big factor in what is delaying my recovery is sexual activity/ejaculation because of these involuntary kegels. I'm just in a bit of a loop because these involuntary kegels seem to be tightening up my pelvic floor and causing premature ejaculation no matter what I do. So I guess the best thing to do would be to completely abstain to avoid reclenching these muscles. It's just a bit of an issue because I have a girlfriend and who knows how long I would have to abstain for.

When it comes to an IK there's a spasm and there's clenching. I believe clenching is what causes tension, not a spasm. I am going to add this to my thread now.
Are you saying that you don't have a lot of feeling in your penis?

I think of it like an 'inside' and an 'outside' feeling. I feel almost nothing at all of the 'outside' feeling. Eg just rubbing my flaccid penis anywhere, on the glans or the shaft, emits no 'pleasurable sensation'. I can however feel temperature when running hot/cold water under it and I can feel pain when it is pinched or prodded. However, I do feel the 'inside' feeling perfectly fine. So i can feel my urethra fine and when I have sex /masturbate I can feel that good 'internal build up of tension' as well as a powerful orgasm. It is strange. My testicles and perineum have also reduced sensitivity. However, it is not a constant state of sensitivity and it does fluctuate which is a positive sign. It seems that sensitivity is directly related to the tightness of my pelvic floor, because when I am feeling particularly tight and can feel the physical tightness (anus clenched shut almost) i can barely feel anything in my penis. However, when I am in a hot bath and my muscles are more relaxed sensitivity increases slightly.

Of course sensitivity is usually diminished because my pelvic floor muscles are chronically tight and so sensitivity is reduced. I am doing my best at the moment to follow all of these methods to help restore this as well as see a physiotherapist.

It is strange how different people have different symptoms. I feel from what I have seen most people have difficulty maintaining an erection but not much loss of sensitivity whereas whilst it is definitely harder for me to get an erection than before hard flaccid, I never struggle to get or maintain one when I am with my girlfriend. My main issue is the lack of sensation and premature ejaculation. I suppose whilst we can attribute hard flaccid to pelvic floor dysfunction, different people can have different muscles in that region tensed/spasmed leading to different symptoms.

Could be pudendal neuralgia/Pudendal nerve entrapment
                        How often are you masturbating?

I thought that but I have no pain so I don't think so. I have seen others with reduced sensitivity from pelvic floor dysfunction. I guess the nerves supply is just being reduced from the tight muscles. I masturbate rarely, especially now as I feel it makes things worse. Maybe once a fortnight. I probably have sex once or twice a fortnight too though.

Do you catch your pf tensing at times, like when you do a rk, do you feel the muscles relax around your rectum? Is there any soreness?

Yes I do feel the muscles relax when i RK. I am constantly trying to relax them as much as i possibly can. Yes i do catch my pelvic floor tense up especially when I go to the toilet. I have no issue or pain in urinating but at the end of my urination my pelvic floor will clamp pretty shut - although I have been using your belly breathing advice to stop this and it has been working well. When I defecate if I am particularly tight i will have to consciously focus on pushing out my anal muscles to let the poo out. Often midway through this push my anus/pelvic floor muscles will slam shut. This is much harder to control but I am once again using the breathing exercises/bent-over posture to combat this.

In terms of pain/soreness I rarely get any thank god. Sometimes I will get a bit sore especially after a few sessions of sex but stretching usually gets rid of this in a day or two. I used to get nerve pain in my actual penis quite a lot but this was many many months ago and despite lack of sensitivity in my whole genital region I haven't had any nerve pain whatsoever for many months. Twice I had perineal pain that lasted about five days each time but that was it.

Is this what you are referring to?
proper posture for toilet. Slightly lean forward with back relatively straight, not slouched.

Sounds like a PF dysfunction. Continue with my advice and you should see improvements. How often are you doing all this stuff?
