  • Back In Time!!?

Ok. So watched a great video on Netflix about the Back To The Future flics. Awesome. At the end they asked the guests and stars if they would go back, forward, or at all, it time. How bout you!?

Myself. I'd think I'd go back in time, watch the founders of this country discuss the revolution, the Declaration of Independence, then the constitution?!

Then of course I might skip ahead to watch my wife and I fuck for the first time. I already know how bad it was.

Really?. I thought 2 was worse than 3.

I think forward would end up being the most interesting. Seeing where it all goes. How it all ends.

However back you can be rich and powerful beyond belief.

        Tough call.

          What!?

2 had Hell Valley and Bif became Donald Trump, killed Marty's dad, enslaved his mom. 2 was a good sequel unlike 3, which was a terrible conclusion.

My version of BTTF 3 would have been way better.

            Hmm...

Traveling to the past: Any insignificant change you create in the past could vastly alter future scenarios in the space-time continuum. Thus, it's possible a change you make in the past could alter your own future (Present) and could lead you to never traveling back in time in the first place, thus undoing all your action and rendering the time travel impossible.

#1 rule: Don't mess with what's been done, it could turn out worse if you do.

Traveling to the future: If "time" really does exist, and is a line of chronological events as we believe, and it's constantly being made as we go along. How can a pre-written future already exist? If time is an illusion, and non existent, then there is no past/present/future. Every event that has happened is currently still "real", everything that is happening now at this exact moment (Present), is real. Everything that will happen, already has, is, and will.

Personally, for me, I'll stay right here tugging on my cock. Who knows, maybe 40 years from now My future self already has an 14 incher LOL.

I would go back just so I could try the actual cooking of Chef Boyardee. No way his cooking tastes the way the stuff in the can does, and he lived/cooked near me so it wouldn't be a far trip.

That's under the assumption that time is that rigid and that certain events that happen only happen under one specific set of circumstances.

There was a problem in the first movie I just thought of. When Einstien was sent one minute into the future and Doc and Marty "caught" up to him Sorry, not possible in linear time, unless time stopped for Einstien he should have remained one minute ahead. Still a great movie. In the documentary the chick who played Marty's mom, Lorain is still smoking hot, can you say cougar.

Yeah, I get you. The magic word in that statement is "could".

And, yes, only under some circumstances. But hypothetically, if it were even possible, lets say you journey back in time to erase WW2 and the horrible events of the holocaust.

You travel back in time to Kill Hitler's parents in order to stop Hitler from being born, thus technically erasing all events, people, that were tied to him. This includes YOU. Because the precondition of your time travel was based on the existence of these past events, the moment you erase Hitler from history, you undo the conditions of your time travel, thus drastically changing the future. And without a WW2 or Hitler, you would have no conditions on time traveling to stop him. Basically rendering the time travel impossible.

It's an infinite loop with lots of arguments.

                  Albeit fun to contemplate

Sure, you could pick out all the plot holes in the BTTF trilogy. There's a lot of them that do not make sense when you think about how time travel is supposed to work. The writers didn't confirm anything with a physicist or even think about their movie clearly. I could go into all the science that doesn't work but I would rather appreciate the movie for what it's worth.

What doesn't make sense to me is the ending, we're supposed to believe Marty screwed up the timeline and then magically fixed everything at the end. In even the worst time travel movie it doesn't work like that, something always goes wrong. Can we say classic "feel good" 80s ending?

I thought BTTF 1 and BTTF 2 were good but BTTF 3 was just a sloppy conclusion lazily put together. It was almost like the producers were expecting to make enough money to stretch out the trilogy even more. My version of BTTF 3 would have been way better.

In my version, Doc is kidnapped by the Libyans in present day 1985 and Marty goes back in time to warn him earlier than before. But in doing so he causes Reagan to lose to Mondale in 84', and Mondale folds to the USSR. Back to the Future, present day Hill Valley is a new Communist Russia in a war between invading military forces and the resistance. Marty nearly escapes a hail of gunfire in the Delorean but in doing so the time machine is damaged resulting in Marty going to 1955 again, only this time his time machine is broken and he's stuck. He finds Doc to get his help, but Doc hasn't thought up the flux capacitor yet. Mary ends up being the reason the porcelain was wet causing Doc to slip and hit his head, resulting in the flux capacitor dream. Doc fixes the time machine with parts from 1955 and Marty goes back to the Future 1955, and once again Marty leaves Doc a note about his future. Marty goes back to the present and heads over to Doc's house just in time to see the Libyans show up and be stopped by a team of SWAT officers and the FBI, who thank Doc for helping them find their top wanted criminals.
