I've got a rather "complicated" query

Does your erection keep growing until fully hard, or does it reach a point where it just stops growing and simply becomes harder.
Eg. Im about 8" 5.5" when im significantly hard(sorry if it sounds like im bragging) but it still is kinda soft and hung down.
Will it continue to grow in size or just get harder?
