Opening April 28th is a movie about flight 93 destined for San François. This is a 90 minute movie about one 9/11 plan. It is the story of what happened.

I suspect this movie will raise controversy. I know we all remember the tragic 9/11 events. But do you think we are ready for the this story?

You may also want to check out "The Hamburger Cell” It’s been out for a while. It’s a portrayal of the terrorists and the events leading up to 911.

        Sweety,

I also wonder if this movie is coming out a little too soon. It has been less than 5 years since the tragedy -- which I can still remember clearly. A lot of the families and close friends surely aren't over it yet. But then again, will they ever be?

But maybe this movie is coming out for other reasons: Politics. This is pure speculation, of course, but Bush's ratings have been terribly low lately. Less people are supporting the war, and more people are wondering how did all of this happen? Maybe this movie is meant to strike a nerve. Maybe it is meant to reestablish the hating feeling we had for terroism 5 years ago. Movies are a great way to send a powerful message, and I presume this might be the case.

It's a fact based movie, very realistic. I watched it on HBO.

Great Speculation! Makes ya think don't it. To be honest I still don't know why we are at war. So many people have so many reasons its hard to believe just one.

If this movie is mean to "strike a nerve" well than you have to be cruel to be kind.

                BTC,

Fact based movies always have that extra edge... You know, because what you are watching seems and feels real. I will make sure to rent "The Hamburger Cell."

                Sweety,
Yea, it definitely tinkles a bell in the head. I presume each of us are at war for our own reasons. Maybe its to fight for our country, or maybe its to fight for theirs. With so many individuals in our nation's armed forces, I think there are many reasons a person goes to war.

I wonder if this movie's impact will be good or not. I remember after seeing the movie Pearl Harbor, I wanted to kill all the Japanese. Obviously this thought didn't last long, nor was I a racist... the movie just had a big affect on me. I couldn't believe it. The funny this was my girlfriend at the time was Japanese. Boy, talk about bunched up emotions.

Pearl Harbor was more of a love story though. Yes it did have its 20 mins of a war scene. That is pretty good story about your girlfriend at the time being Japanese. Did you ever tell her about your feelings for the Japs after that movie?

                    Sweety,

I can remember the black outs that we had, My Grandmother and Grandfather worked with Civil Defense. They had to go up and down their street telling everyone put the lights out or cover the windows with black cloths. That was pretty scarry for being only 2 yrs old.

I think it would be a scary thing at any age. These black outs, what were they caused from and where?

                        Sweety,

We would have civil defence drills in our town where we lived, it was because of the war that was going on over in Germany. Everybody that could afford a bomb shelter, made one. Everybody was worried about being bombed. We would have ration stamps that we used for food and gas.

Really, you know I only read about things like that in text books. It's a different perspective when I read it from someone who actually had to face the horror.

You would think after the 9/11 attacks and the war going on in Iraq, more people would have bomb shelters today.

                            Dust,

Black outs, eh? Where were you at the time?

                            Sweety,
Yea, it was definitely a romantic movie too. I may have came off a little strong in my above post. I by no means wanted to seek revenge for a bombing that happened 60 years ago. Rather, I felt kind of angry at what they did to us. I presume this movie will do the same to others who watch it.

I talked to her about the movie, but she didn't seem to mind. She agreed with me, in fact. Eh, I guess she was over here for a reason.

                              sweety,

I think that everybody now has no idea about bomb shelters, only the ones that had to go through the 40's remembers what it was like. The bomb shelters has been distroyed, and I don't think theirs many left that are in the cities. These bomb shelters were generally in the basements of the buildings.
