    I hate cocks!!!

    Roosters, that is.

    I am here at my sister's house, and she lives just off of a river where there is a bunch of fucking river rats and "trailer residents" that ALL seem to own chickens/roosters, and they caw at ALL hours of the NIGHT, but it really gets WORSE about 1am when I am REALLY trying to go to sleep. So here I am, 6:30am and I am at the computer, "pecking away" myself as are they, the chickens. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

    These people are ridiculous! I mean, I know this is Texas and all but these folks have done things like (literally) converted their riding lawn mowers into suped-up 4 wheelers, and some grown people even ride on those mini motorcycles that I don't see how anyone over the age of 10 can even get on, but,...they do. And they ride them around here at all hours, after dark, with no headlights.

    I AM SO SICK OF THEESE ROOSTERS!!! They are about to drive me crazy, cawing all night, and each one sounds different, which adds to the impossibility to fall asleep factor.

    Oh the cacophony!!! or,...should I say COCK-OPHONY!!!

    Just about the time you are ready to leave, you will stop hearing the roosters!

    I have small flock of hens, but no rooster. On purpose. I paid 17 cents more for each chick to get only girls!

      UGH, I know Batwoman, what they hell can I do!?!!? I am going to rip my ears off and my hair out trying to go to sleep.

      Looks like I am just going to miss a whole days sleep.

      Ugh, I have a friend that got chickens, and when he did he thought he would get a good "half and half" mix of roosters to hens by getting what they call a "straight run", but he ended up with mostly roosters.

      So you do ranching BW, that's cool. I grew up on a farm and ranch. Done my share of castrations, never again.

          I would love to do the same, even have breeding cocks too, but I think I am a little addled regarding this idea now.

              Remember the ex bought some cocks to make stew out of, she said they had nore flavour. Anyway she wanted me to hold them while she killed them.                             A few years a go a cat, a domestic cat killed our rooster and about five hens. I can relate to calixto. I live by a rooster ranch, raised for cock fighting, thousands and thousands of roosters bloowing off at 2 am every morning. We have five laying hens, we get about 3 dozen eggs per week.
