Lol, wish I thought you were reaching, but thanks for proving my point. So I've been in the army for 13 years, so you have to understand how to interpret regulations. At the very bottom of that whole article, there's a clause in there, which there are for almost every regulation. It says or whenever the commander in chief says. That means if president Trump says not standing for the flag is disrespectful, than it is. Crazy thing about regulations like that is they take years to alter, so by putting that clause in there it gives the commander and chief the authority to change them at will, or temporarily amend it. Crazy right, thanks for that.

For me that isn't the crazy part. The crazy part for me is why he doesn't take the 30 seconds to officially act instead of wasting all this time and energy making matters worse. Do his job instead of actingblike the spoiled petulant child.

My problem is being idealistic. I believe in the promises made to us in our founding and supporting documents. I believe we are to be what we say we will be. Unfortunately we are very far from it.

Oh Wish that's bullshit. What has this great movement you back, what has it done? You see it uniting people? All it did was start a fight. What was the original purpose? Oh police are bad people. Well is anyone talking about that now? The wonderful dialog you and others wanted to start is now lost and gone. Now it's all abut respect for the flag and look at the division it has caused. Just look at the football players; some standing, some kneeling. Now does that look like united to you? In a time where we have serious division in this county well why not ad some more; it'll be good for us.

Your cause picked the wrong venue and stubbornly will not admit it or back off. Let them continue all they want; the messages has long been lost. A few weeks from now the only thing people will remember is that some people don't respect the flag enough to stand for it. Make sure that anything that can unite these people called Americans that you find a way to destroy it. What you gain from that you may be sorry you ever started it.

Yes their attempt to make it possible for liberty and justice for all was shouted down. The message has been diverted and diluted into nothing. Those who chose to do the diverting and diluting are the very reason people protest in the first place. So be proud. You fucked this country over again. Well with politics it's different, you can't just go around throwing people in jail, it'd be a lot cooler if he did, but that's not the way it works. Even though he could have them all dead to rights, they'd all become martyrs to the evil government. So him spending 10 min of his time blasting them on social media is the next best thing. I find it funny how many people whine about his use of social media, do you actually think he pays any attention to it, he probably has a team of interns monitoring it, and he tweets between meetings. Again very intimate with inner workings of government agencies, he probably goes to about 20 meetings a day, that last 30 min to an hour. Shit I'm not even that important and I go to at least 3 meetings a day. Gotta have perspective, I'm sure he's not sitting at a feast table eating steak and rigorously searching social media all day let's be real.

I agree. But all he has to do is have a staffer write a decree and then officially sign it. Then we have a directive that we must stand. Now there is no directive so his blathering means nothing. It only serves to make the divisions wider. Make the decree or shut up about it. Currently the players aren't doing anything wrong. So can't be fired. He has the ability to make it wrong and there by make his words true. Now he's just a bully.
